Special Order made by the Council of the County of Rangitikei.

THE following special order, made by the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.—Loan of £200, Murray’s Track (Te Kumu-Mangaone).
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Rangitikei County Council doth hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £200, authorised to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of widening and metalling on Murray’s Track from the Te Kumu Saddle to the Mangaone Stream, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁵⁄₁₀d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Te Kumu-Mangaone special-rating district, comprising Section part 14 (100 acres) and Sections 15 and 16, Block VII.; Sections 1, 2, 3, part 6 (75 acres), 7, 8, and part 9 (26 acres), Block VIII., all in the Tiriraukawa Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I, John Willoughby Marshall, Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 3rd day of October, 1903, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Rangitikei County Council held on the 7th day of November, 1903.
In testimony whereof the common seal of the Rangitikei County Council has been hereunto affixed.

THE following special order, made by the Clifton County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.—Wiri Road Loan, £200.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf, the Clifton County Council do hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges upon a loan of £200, authorised to be raised by the Clifton County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for metalling the Wiri Road, the said Clifton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⁷⁄₄d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Wiri Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 6, 7, 11, Block XV., Waitara Survey District; Section 17, Block 111, Huiroa Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable in one instalment on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and the interest shall be at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum for the said period of forty-one years.
The above special order was made on the 3rd July, 1903, and confirmed on the 7th August, 1903.

WAIPU COUNTY COUNCIL.
Awatere Loan.
It is hereby publicly notified that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Awatere Special District, taken on the 29th day of October, 1903, upon a proposal to borrow £2,000 for the construction of—No. 1, a dray-road between Te Araroa and Tauri; No. 2, a dray-road between Tauri and Taraponui; No. 3, a dray-road between Tauri and Tangihanga—the following was the result: Number of valid votes for the proposal, 12; number of valid votes against the proposal, 0.
I declare the proposal carried.

Western Shoal.
Masters of coasting craft and others are hereby notified that a quantity of ballast has been discharged on Western Shoal from the barque “Brenn.” The bearings given by the master are as follows: Mount Young, N. 30° W.; Hummock Hill, N. 19° E.
As there is only about 5 ft. of water on the spot at L.W.S., masters of vessels of shallow draught are warned to avoid the vicinity. At present the site of this ballast is marked only by a small float, but it is intended at an early date to place a buoy or a beacon to mark its position.
