RESULT OF POLL.
I HEREBY declare the result of the poll of the ratepayers of the Sub-district of Riccarton-Sockburn of the Christchurch Tramways District, on the proposal of the Christchurch Tramway Board to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £55,000 for the purposes duly set forth, to be as follows:—
Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 486; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 43.
And I hereby declare that the said proposal was carried.

WAIMARINO COUNTY.
I HEREBY give notice that the votes of the ratepayers in the Waimarino County were taken by a poll held at Raetihi on Wednesday, the 23rd September, 1903, on the undermentioned proposal, with the following result:—
“Proposal that ‘The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,’ be adopted in the Waimarino County, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof.”
Votes for the above proposal .. .. 43
Votes against the above proposal .. .. 13
I hereby declare the above proposal to be carried.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before three o’clock of the day preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed “Public a/c,” and exchange added.
Postage- or duty-stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are issued.
Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to prevent delay in publication a sufficient remittance should accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be returned with receipted account.
