Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Helensville Northwards Railway, Kaipara Flats and Hoteo Sections.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS an extension of the Helensville Northwards Railway to a point on the northern boundary of Section 8, Block XVI., Otamatea Survey District, is a railway specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1901,” which Act is, in the fourth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such extension; and whereas such extension is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in Railway Reserve, Ahuroa Parish, Block IX., Mahurangi Survey District, distant about 15 chains in a northerly direction from the south-western corner of Section 74 in the said Parish of Ahuroa, which point is also the termination of the Komokoriki Section of the Helensville Northwards Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 16th January, 1900, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 5, of the 18th January, 1900; proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about 10 miles 2¾ chains, and passing into, through, or over the following lands—namely, Railway Reserve, Crown lands, Sections 74, 47A, and 47, Ahuroa Parish, Block IX., Mahurangi Survey District; the south-west and north-west portions of Section 45, Sections 34, 35, and 36, Kourawhero Parish, Block IX., Mahurangi Survey District; Section 36 aforesaid, and Sections 37, 65, 66, and 14, Kourawhero Parish, Block V., Mahurangi Survey District; east portion of Section 102, and Section 100, Tauhoa Parish, Block V., Mahurangi Survey District; Section 100, Tauhoa Parish, Block VIII., Tauhoa Survey District; Section 53, Hoteo Parish, Block VIII., Tauhoa Survey District; Sections 101, 105, 178, land set apart for railway purposes, and Sections 136 and 64, Tauhoa Parish, Block VIII., Tauhoa Survey District; Sections 55 and 54, Hoteo Parish, Blocks VIII. and IV., Tauhoa Survey District; Section 161, Tauhoa Parish, Sections 56 and 91, Hoteo Parish, Sections 161, 112, and 111, Tauhoa Parish, and Sections 30, 29, and 28, Block IV., Tauhoa Survey District; and terminating at a point on the southern side of public road forming the northern boundary of said Section 28: all in the Land District of Auckland: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 20120, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Land in the Town of Akaroa taken for Public Buildings.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for the purpose of public buildings in the Town of Akaroa:
And whereas an agreement for the taking of the estate in fee-simple of the said land has been entered into, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this Proclamation should be issued:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
