MINING NOTICES.

UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR ALTERATION OF A WATER-RACE (No. 5125).

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Lawrence.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, William McKenzie, Michael Carmody, John Murray, Robert McARA, Alfred Bowden Rowe, and Henry John Pink, all of Waitahuna, Miners; Margaret Ryan, wife of John Joseph Ryan, of Waitahuna, Miner; John Kirby, of Berwick, Storeman; William Taylor McKenzie, of Westport, Dredgemaster; and Hector McARA, of Gisborne, Engineer, hereby apply for a license for alteration of a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the alteration of race, and of its starting and terminal points: At Waitahuna River, commencing at a point about 12 chains below the original point of intake of water-race held under license No. 5125, dated 15th July, 1892, and terminating at a point about 60 chains above the original termination of water-race: original termination of water-race, ¼ mile below the railway-crossing at Waitahuna; present termination, about ½ mile above said railway-crossing.

Length and intended course of race as altered: 2 miles 8 chains; south-westerly.

Point of intake: At a point about 12 chains below the original point of intake of water-race held under license No. 5125.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed.

Mean depth and breadth: Depth, 2 ft.; breadth, 2 ft. 6 in.

Number of heads to be diverted: 6 sluice-heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Mining purposes.

Proposed term of license: Fifteen years from 15th July, 1892.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Office of the Hauraki Mines (Limited), where legal proceedings of any kind may be served upon it, and to which notice of any kind may be addressed or given, and for the purpose of “The Foreign Companies Act, 1884,” has been removed to the offices of Messrs. Heather, Robertson, and Co., situate in Customs Street, in the City of Auckland.
