Lands set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the seventy-third section of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the lands described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

As the same are delineated upon the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Increasing the Holding-area of Land to Settlers in the Rakau-toru Village Settlement, Wellington Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of October, 1903.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council issued on the thirtieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, under the authority of the one-hundred-and-sixty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” fixing the terms and conditions upon which lands in Rakau-toru Village Settlement should be disposed of, it was provided that no lessee should hold more than one allotment in the said village settlement:
And whereas it is expedient to allow one person to hold more than one allotment in the Rakau-toru Village Settlement, provided that the total area acquired does not exceed thirty acres:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby amend the Order in Council aforesaid so far as it affects the area in which the land in the Rakau-toru Village Settlement shall be held, and doth by this present Order declare that on and after the date hereof any settler may apply for and acquire land therein of an area not exceeding thirty acres in extent in the whole; and it is hereby further declared that all the provisions of the Order in Council of the thirtieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, aforesaid, shall apply to the Rakau-toru Village Settlement, except as regards the area in which the sections may be held.

Powers delegated to the Opotiki and Waioeka Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of October, 1903.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twentieth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as the Opotiki and Waioeka Domain Board, namely,—

SAMUEL MOODY,
THOMAS DAWSON,
ARTHUR PARKINSON,
DONALD McDONALD,
WILLIAM HEARD, and
JOHN CHARLES ARTHUR,
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Thursday in each month, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., at the Settlers’ Hall, Opotiki, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Thursday, the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
