Trustees for the Okato Public Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JAMES SMITH FOX

to be a Trustee, in the place of Thomas Pole Hughson, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Okato Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Trustees for the Pleasant Point Public Cemetery appointed.

to be Trustees, in the place of James Gwyn, George Green, and John Rodger, deceased, and George Anderson, who has left the district, and to provide for the maintenance and care of the Dunoon Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Francis Henderson and Thomas McLennan, previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Trustees for the Ngunguru Public Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Names of Trustees. Name of Public Cemetery, and Description of Land.
Peter Sturt Brown, John Turner Giffney, and Hugh Ferguson. NGUNGURU. All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 7 of Block III., Whangarei Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 16 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the east and south generally by the Ngunguru River, and towards the north-west by the Tarata Block, 205 and 280 links, to the point of commencement: be the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Otago.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly set apart for a site for an athenæum, being a reserve within Class I. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be appropriated for a site for a public hospital, being a reserve in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three, be appropriated for a site for a public hospital under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 8, 9, and 11, Block VIII., Town of Tapanui.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Duty leviable on Creamalina.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS a certain article of merchandise known as creamalina is imported into New Zealand, which is apparently a substitute for cream of tartar, the latter being a dutiable article under “The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888”:

And whereas creamalina has properties which enable it to be used for a similar purpose as cream of tartar:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred upon me by “The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888,” do hereby direct that a duty be levied on creamalina at the rate of one penny the pound, on and after the date hereof.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.
