Lands taken for Road in Block XVIII., Cloudy Bay Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, for the purpose of a road in Block XVIII., Cloudy Bay Survey District: And whereas an agreement has been entered into with the owner of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto to take such land for the public work hereinafter set forth: And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to issue a Proclamation taking the land as required by the said Act: Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement herein-after referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the said road in Block XVIII., Cloudy Bay Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of section one hundred and five of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and notify that the City and Port of San Francisco, in the United States of America, are infected with diseases called or known as bubonic plague and smallpox, being infectious or contagious diseases highly dangerous to the health of the people.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Closing Portion of a Government Road in the Huangarua Survey District, Masterton County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section twelve, subsection three, of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof: And whereas that portion of the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purposes of a road: Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as closed the road in the Huangarua Survey District hereinafter described.
SCHEDULE.
That portion of the road known as the Whangaehu Road which commences at the junction of the Martinborough-Pahao Road with the Whangaehu Valley Road, proceeding generally along the east bank of Whangaehu Stream in a north-easterly direction a distance of three miles to the Wakarua Stream, all within the Tablelands Estate, Blocks VII. and XI., Huangarua Survey District; as the same is delineated upon the plan marked R. 1008, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green, and marked C.F. and G.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Declaring Blackleg (Symptomatic Anthrax) a Disease for the Purposes of “The Stock Act, 1893.”—Notice No. 808.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirty-first day of August, 1903.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Stock Act, 1893,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the disease known as blackleg (symptomatic anthrax), which affects cattle, is a disease for the purposes of “The Stock Act, 1893,” and shall be subject to the regulations made thereunder, and now in force. And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council shall come into force from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
