A REQUEST for leave to amend (1) the application and (2) the specification (including drawings) relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendments. 14880.—15th May, 1902.—JOSEPH COOK, of 14, Leeds Street, Wellington, Brass-finisher. Improvements in valves and apparatus for operating the valves of watercloset cisterns.
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows: To insert the name “John Danks,” of Samuel Danks and Son, as joint applicant with the said Joseph Cook, and to otherwise alter the form as to make it suitable for joint applicants.
The applicant states :—“My reasons for making the amendment are as follows: The said John Danks having joined me in partnership for manufacturing the patent.”
No. 15940.—5th February, 1903.—W. A. and A. M. SHELY, of Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A., Manufacturers. Machine for breaking and cleaning fibrous material.
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows: To insert the following words, &c., in page 3, line 18, after the words “by arms N”—“the latter arms being shorter and located within or between the former arms”; on line 20, after the word “eccentric,” to insert the word “bearing”; to cross out “Spindle 16,” line 23, and insert the words “The eccentric bearing 18”; after the words “eccentric sleeve,” line 24, to insert the words “or bearing”; to insert, after the sentence ending “journal-box thereof,” line 25, the following paragraph—“Thus the blade J describes a greater circle than the blade K, and the axis of revolution of the latter is nearer the brake-bars than the axis of revolution of the former, so that each blade is brought into operative relation with the brake-bars when passing them, while the blade K revolves within the greater circle described by the blade J, permitting the blades to pass each other at diametrically opposite points in each revolution”; to cross out, on page 3, lines 29 to 33, the paragraph commencing with the words “In this way, &c.,” and ending with “brake-bar concave”; to substitute “suitable pivot” for “universal joints,” line 9, page 5, and “rear” for “front,” line 12, page 5; to alter Figs. 2 and 8 of the drawings.
The applicants state :—“Our reasons for making this amendment are as follows: Draughtsman’s errors in the original specifications and drawings would make it appear that a certain movement of parts takes place which would prevent the proper operation of said parts.”
