NOTE.—A rather wet month, although the rainfall was
not up to the average. The maximum rainfall was re-
corded on the 24th, 1·03in. Prevailing wind, N.W. Maxi-
mum temperature in shade, 71°; minimum, 41°. Mean
temperature of dew point, 45·5°; mean humidity, 65.

Assembly of New Zealand passed in the forty-fourth
year of the reign of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria, and
intituled “The Marriage Act, 1880,” the following names of
Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act
are published for general information:—

Church of the Province of New Zealand, commonly called
the Church of England.

Notice of Cancellation of Registry under “The Industrial
Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1900.”

New Zealand Woollen-manufacturers’ Industrial
Union of Employers, registered No. 283, situated at Christ-
church, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publica-
tion hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Notice published pursuant to the Provisions of Section 15 of
“The Public Trust Office Consolidation Act, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, no person having taken
out administration, the Public Trustee has filed in
the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an election
to administer the several intestate estates of the persons
deceased whose names, residences, and occupations, so far
as known, are hereunder respectively set forth, their gross
properties being estimated not to exceed £250 in each case.

Southland Board of Education.—Election of Member.

Education Office, Invercargill,
13th January, 1903.

IN accordance with section 17 of “The Education Boards
Election Act, 1900,” it is hereby publicly notified that

DUNCAN GILCHRIST, Esq.,

of Waikaka Valley, has been duly elected a member of the
Education Board of the District of Southland, to fill the
vacancy caused by the death of the late Dr. James Copland,
of Gore.

The number of valid votes recorded for each candidate
was as follows:—

Gilchrist, Duncan .. .. .. 243 votes.
White, John Francis .. .. .. 194 "
White, Rev. William .. .. .. 129 "
Wood, George .. .. .. 25 "

The total number of valid votes recorded was 591.
The total number of voting-papers (inclusive of 22 received
too late, in terms of section 12, subsection (5), of the Act) re-
jected as informal was 58.

VERY OF TELEGRAPH ARMS.

THE Electric Telegraph Commissioner is pre-
pared to receive separate Tenders until the
14th February, 1903, for the SUPPLY AND
DELIVERY OF TELEGRAPH ARMS, as
under:—

25,000 (twenty-five thousand) arms, 2ft. 3in.
long.
20,000 (twenty thousand) arms, 5ft. 6in. long.
15,000 (fifteen thousand) arms, 7ft. 6in. long.

Specifications and sample arms can be seen at
the Post and Telegraph Stores, Wellington, the
Telegraph-office, Wellington, the Chief Post-
offices, Greymouth and Hokitika, and the Post-
offices at Dannevirke, Masterton, and Palmerston
North.

Tenders to be addressed to the “Superintend-
ent of Electric Lines, Wellington,” and indorsed
“Tender for Telegraph Arms.”
