SCHEDULE.

THAT road extending from the Opuha Bridge, on the south branch of the Opuha River, to the Opihi River, on the south-western boundary of the Mount Peel Road District, a distance of six miles or thereabouts, and known as the Clayton Road; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 3133, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured sienna.

Appointing Commissioners to classify Pastoral Runs in the Auckland Land District.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one-hundred-and-eighty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

DAVID LUNDON, and EDWARD PHILLIPS TURNER Commissioners to classify and report to me upon rural lands in Rotorua County, Auckland Land District, as provided by section one-hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three.

GERHARD MUELLER, LAURENCE CUSSEN, and DAVID LUNDON Commissioners to classify and report to me upon rural lands in the East and West Taupo Counties, Auckland Land District, as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the eighth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act Amendment Act, 1888,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons named in the Schedule hereto, holding the office of Postmaster under “The Post Office Act, 1900,” at the places set opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorised to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-thirty-fourth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Place where Miners’ Rights may be issued.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by “The Mining Act, 1898,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Post-office at the undermentioned place to be a post-office at which miners’ rights may be issued by the Postmaster in charge of such Post-office, viz.,—

MAHAKIPAWA, Blenheim ;

and by the same powers and authorities do hereby declare that the Post-office at

CULLENSVILLE, Blenheim,

shall no longer be a post-office at which miners’ rights may be issued.

As witness my hand, this fifteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Pension Boards abolished, and Pension Board appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS various Boards of Medical Officers have from time to time been appointed under the powers in that behalf conferred upon the Governor by section four of “The Military Pensions Act, 1866”: And whereas that section has been repealed by section three of “The Military Pensions Act, 1902,” and by virtue of such repeal the aforesaid Boards were abolished, except for the purpose of completing cases pending and partially dealt with at the time of such repeal: And whereas the said repealing section provides that the Governor may from time to time appoint a Board consisting of not less than three duly qualified medical practitioners whose duty it shall be to inquire into every claim for a pension or gratuity in respect of a wound or injury received in the actual performance of military duty, or in respect of the death of any officer, non-commissioned officer, or private, and to report thereon to the Governor:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the aforesaid section three of “The Military Pensions Act, 1902,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, hereby declare that the first-mentioned Boards are abolished except as to cases pending and partially dealt with as aforesaid, and in lieu thereof a Board is hereby appointed under and for the purposes of the aforesaid section three, consisting of the following medical practitioners, that is to say :—

JAMES MASON, Esq., L.R.C.P.E., L.R.C.S.E., &c.; THOMAS HARCOURT AMBROSE VALENTINE, Esq., L.S.A.L., M.R.C.S.E., &c.; JOHN TEARE, Esq., M.B., B.S., E., &c.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Arrangements for First Elections, &c., Weber County.

Wellington, 12th January, 1903. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

ANNIE BURLEIGH SYME MORRISON to be the person to make up electors' rolls for all ridings in the County of Weber; also to be the Returning Officer to conduct the elections of members of the Council of the said county; and also to be the Clerk of the Weber County Council for the purpose of presiding at the first meeting thereof.
