Plan of Te Kuiti Township to be Exhibited for Inspection.

Wellington, 15th June, 1903.
IN pursuance of the provisions of section 4 of the regulations made by a Proclamation under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the 13th day of July, 1902, prescribing the terms under which allotments in Native townships proclaimed under the provisions of sections 8 to 12 of “The Native and Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1902,” may be leased, sold, exchanged, or otherwise dealt with, and prescribing generally in what manner such townships shall be administered, I, John William Allman Marchant, the Surveyor-General of the colony, the officer whose duty it is to approve the plan of the Native Township of Te Kuiti, do hereby direct and notify that the said plan shall be exhibited for inspection at the Government Survey Office, Te Kuiti, for the period of two months from the 29th day of June, 1903.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, at this office, on Wednesday, the 12th day of August, 1903, under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and amendments.
If more than one application is received for the section on the same day, the order of selection shall be decided by ballot.

The section is situated in the Waiwetu portion of the Hutt Valley. The access is from Lower Hutt, which is about two miles and a half distant: first by the Main Road, then by the Middle Waiwetu Road, thence by the Wi Tako and Porutu Roads, all of which are formed and metalled. The section comprises flat grass country; the soil is of a deep loam of great depth and fertility, resting on gravel formation; water is obtainable by sinking. The elevation ranges from about 10 ft. to 15 ft. above sea-level.
