HIS Excellency the Governor has, in His Majesty’s name, summoned to the Legislative Council of New Zealand by writ of summons under the seal of the said colony of this day’s date

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

MAHUTA TAWHIAO POTATAU TE WHEROWHERO

to be a member of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, and he has been sworn in as a member of the said Council. Mahuta Tawhiao Potatau te Wherowhero was known as the Maori King Mahuta, and is the son of Tawhiao and grandson of Potatau, formerly known as Maori Kings.
