NOTE.—Nearly all the rain recorded fell in the first half of the month, the latter portion of the month being exceptionally fine, with high barometer. Prevailing wind, north-west. Rainfall above the average. Maximum fall on 17th, 1·37 in. Maximum temperature in shade, 70°; minimum, 40°. Mean temperature of dew-point, 47·2°; mean humidity, 75.

Notice published pursuant to the Provisions of Section 15 of “The Public Trust Office Consolidation Act, 1894.”

Wellington, 19th May, 1903.

NOTICE is hereby given that, no person having taken out administration, the Public Trustee has filed in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington an election to administer the several intestate estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations, so far as known, are hereunder respectively set forth, their gross properties being estimated not to exceed £250 in each case.

Ellen Philpott, late of Styx, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, married woman. Filed on the 14th day of May, 1903.

Emma Iggulden, late of Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, spinster. Filed on the 14th day of May, 1903.

Notice of Vesting of Lands in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the lands described in the Schedule hereunder written, and the owners thereof, and have, in respect of the said lands, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner of either section is, and believe that such owners respectively are not in the colony, nor has either of such owners established her title to the said sections belonging to her, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said lands are respectively, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act; the assessed value of the land for the purposes of section 5 of the said Act being respectively less than £100.

Notice of the Laying-off of Roads over Native Lands in Makotuku, Ngamatea, and Karioi Survey Districts.

NOTICE is hereby given, under the authority contained in section 72 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and amendment thereof, that the roads mentioned in the Schedule hereto were, in July, 1901, surveyed and laid off over the Native lands therein mentioned, under my direction; and that, in terms of the said Act, the site of such roads shall be deemed to be roads dedicated to the public, and shall vest in His Majesty.
