THE following special order, made by the Oamaru Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF OAMARU.
Public notice is hereby given that, at a special meeting held for the purpose in the Council Chambers, Thames Street, on Monday, 2nd March, 1903, at 3 o’clock p.m. the following resolution was passed by way of special order:—
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by ‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,’ the Council of the Borough of Oamaru hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £3,250 authorised to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Oamaru, under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the construction and execution of certain drainage and kerbing and channelling works in the Borough of Oamaru, the said Council of the Borough of Oamaru hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Oamaru, comprising the whole of the Borough of Oamaru, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
And it was further resolved,—
“That a meeting to confirm the above resolution be held in the Council Chambers, Thames Street, Oamaru, on Friday, 10th day of April, 1903, at 7.30 o’clock, p.m.”

Special Order made by the Eden Terrace Road Board, County of Eden, amending By-laws.

THE following special order, made by the Eden Terrace Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER amending By-laws, made by the Eden Terrace Road Board on the 12th day of May, 1903.
In pursuance of the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and section 131 of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in accordance with a resolution of the Board passed on the 24th day of March, 1903, it was resolved, That the Eden Terrace Road Board do now make a special order amending section 101 of the Eden Terrace District By-laws by the addition, after the end of the said section, of the following words, viz.: “The owner or driver of every vehicle passing along any street or road within the boundaries of the Eden Terrace Road District, without proper and sufficient lights, between sunset and sunrise, shall be guilty of an offence.” The foregoing amendment to take effect from and after the 1st day of June, 1903.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of sections 75 and 76 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” on the 12th day of May, 1903.

THE following special order, made by the Kiwitea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Kiwitea County Council do hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £820, authorised to be raised by the Kiwitea County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the construction of Lagoon and Kelpie Roads, the said Kiwitea County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of 2½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Lagoon Special-rating District, comprising Sections 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, part 15, part 15, 16, and 17, Block XVI., Hautapu Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Made under the seal of the Council of the County of Kiwitea, this 16th day of May, 1903.
