  1. In case any sub-district electoral roll is not, from any
    cause whatever, made out and completed so as to come into
    force at the prescribed time, the sub-district electoral roll
    for the preceding year shall (unless the time for making out
    and completing a new roll is extended) be in force for the
    year for which a roll has not been made out and completed
    as aforesaid.

  2. (a.) As soon as practicable after any original sub-dis-
    trict electoral roll, or any supplementary district electoral
    roll, comes into force, copies thereof shall be printed by the
    Board.

(b.) But where the total number of electors on any roll or
supplementary roll does not exceed 200, the Board may de-
clare that such roll or supplementary roll shall be type-
writen and not printed, and whenever there shall be in
existence a sufficient number of printed copies of any sub-
district electoral roll or supplementary roll, it shall not be
obligatory on the Board to reprint such roll or supple-
mentary roll.

(c.) The Clerk shall supply any person with a copy of the
printed or typewritten sub-district electoral roll, together
with all its printed or typewritten supplements, on payment
of 1s.

  1. The Clerk is liable to a penalty not exceeding £5 in
    every case where he refuses, or wilfully neglects, or un-
    reasonably delays—

(1.) To place on the district electors list the name of
any person who makes written claim for enrol-
ment as provided by paragraph (a) of clause 3 of
these regulations; or

(2.) To faithfully and promptly perform any other duty
imposed on him by the Act or these regulations.

  1. If the Board fails or unreasonably delays to keep at
    the Clerk's office a supply of blank printed claim forms for
    the free use of claimants, as provided by clause 5 of these
    regulations, or to faithfully and promptly perform any other
    duty imposed on it by the Act or these regulations, every
    person (whether the Clerk or any member of the Board)
    who is party to or responsible for such failure or delay is
    severally liable to a penalty not exceeding £5.

(In the Case of a Freeholder's Qualification.)

  1. I claim to be enrolled on the freehold list [or roll] as
    beneficial owner of a freehold estate in the following land
    within the said sub-district—[Set out description of land by
    reference to section and block]—the capital value whereof is
    not less than £25.

(In the Case of a Rating Qualification.)

  1. I claim to be enrolled on the electors list [or roll] as
    ratepayer in respect of the following property within the

    less than £10 per year for each residential occupant under
    the tenancy. [Set out the description and situation of the
    building, or, if more than one, then of each building occupied
    during any portion of the three months, specifying in each case
    the name of the landlord, the term of the tenancy, the rental
    payable thereunder, the period of actual occupation, and, if the
    number of occupants under the tenancy exceeds one, the number
    of them and the name of each of them.]

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required for a certain public work, to wit, a
Native school:

And whereas it has been made a condition of the esta-
blishment of the said Native school that the site required
therefor shall be a free gift from the Native owners to His
Majesty the King, and the Native owners have agreed to
such condition, and it has been made to appear that such
agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be
effected thereby:
