Advisory Counsellor, Official Members, and Members of Councils under “The Maori Councils Act, 1900,” appointed.

Native Minister’s Office,
Wellington, 18th April, 1903.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments under the provisions of “The Maori Councils Act, 1900”:

Te Heuheu Tukino, of Tokaanu,

to be Advisory Counsellor of the Tongariro Maori Council, vice Te Huiatahi Moanapapaku, deceased.

Kingi Topia, of Moawhango,

to be a member of the Tongariro Maori Council, vice Tea Aperahama, whose seat has become vacant in consequence of his absence without leave from three consecutive meetings of the Council.

Patoromu Honea, of Waikakeno,

to be a member of the Rongokako Maori Council, vice Honi Herewini te Huki, resigned.

Gilbert Mair, of Wellington,

to be Official Member of the Rongokako Maori Council, vice Joseph Eccleston, removed.

Te Reweti te Whena

to be a member of the Taranaki Maori Council, vice Warihi Taiepa.

Heta Arapata, of Te Pupuke, Whangaroa,

to be a member of the Tokerau Maori Council, vice Rapi Taniora, deceased.

Thomas Kirk, Clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, Whangarei,

to be Official Member of the Whangarei Maori Council, vice George Morley Robertshaw, deceased.

Nutana te Kawe, of Wairoa,

to be a member of the Kahungunu Maori Council, vice Rapihana Hawaikirangi, whose seat has become vacant in consequence of his absence without leave from three consecutive meetings of the Council.

Tane Puruti, of Kaiapoi,

to be a member of the Mahunui Maori Council, vice Tioke Horomona Tahuna, deceased.
