Native Land proposed to be taken for a Gravel-pit in Block XIII., Ohinemuri Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of March, 1903.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purpose of a gravel-pit, in Block XIII., Ohinemuri Survey District: And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown: And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land by the Ohinemuri County Council, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the said gravel-pit, and the said land shall vest in the Chairman, Councillors, and Ratepayers of the County of Ohinemuri, as from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and three.

SCHEDULE.

In the Auckland Land District; as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above noted, and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Land taken for Waimarama Native School.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of February, 1903.

Present:

The Honourable W. C. Walker presiding in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required for a certain public work, to wit, a Native school:

And whereas it has been made a condition of the establishment of the said Native school that the site required therefor shall be a free gift from the Native owners to His Majesty the King, and the Native owners have agreed to such condition, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:

And whereas by an order of the Native Land Court dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, under “The Native Land Division Act, 1882,” certain aboriginal natives, as in the said order mentioned, were declared to be the owners of the Waipuka No. 2 Block, within which the said land is situated:

And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto attached:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the land shown upon the said map and described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school, and shall vest in His Majesty the King from the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and three.

In the Land District of Hawke’s Bay; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above described, deposited in the Education Department, at Wellington.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock pheasants and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the Tauranga District, consisting of the Counties of Tauranga, Opotiki, and Whakatane, from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and three, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and three, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts
