Volunteer Regulations (Paragraphs 135 to 139, inclusive) cancelled, and other Regulations substituted.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the cancellation of the regulations providing for the earning of capitation by Volunteer batteries and companies contained in paragraphs 135 to 139, inclusive, and to substitute the following:

A capitation allowance at the rate appropriated annually by Parliament will be granted for all trained members of Volunteer corps (who are entitled to draw the same) who have attended the parades as under, and who have completed the musketry course laid down in “Target Practice for 1903.”

FIELD ARTILLERY.

Each battery must go into a company camp for fourteen days each year. Men must be present and sleep in camp at least seven days, and must attend eighteen parades during the year, at which at least half of the strength must be present, three being afternoon parades. Two-thirds of the strength must be present on at least four parades during the year.

GARRISON ARTILLERY.

The company must go into camp at or near forts for sixteen days each year. Men must be present and sleep in camp at least twelve out of the sixteen days, and must attend eighteen parades during the year, at which at least half of the strength must be present, three being afternoon parades, and devoted to fort-manning. Two-thirds of the strength must be present on at least four parades during the year.

ENGINEERS (SUBMARINE).

The company to go into camp for sixteen days. Men must be present and sleep in camp twelve days, and must attend eighteen parades during the year, at which at least half of the strength must be present, three being afternoon parades, and devoted to practical work on the water. Two-thirds of the strength to be present on at least four parades during the year.

ENGINEERS (FIELD).

Same as above, with the exception of the afternoon parades being devoted to practical work on land.
