Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Lands.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS prior to the coming into operation of “The Maori Lands Administration Act, 1900,” application had been made to the Governor by the owners of the lands described in the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such lands, as set forth in the Native Land Court certificates of title bearing date the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that such restrictions be removed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the fifty-second section of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Native Land Court certificates of title on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing 7 acres, more or less, situate in the Provincial District of Auckland, known as Torohanga, held under certificate of the Native Land Court, dated the 27th day of August, 1883, in favour of Henare Whakarongohau and others, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable, except with the consent of the Governor, by sale or mortgage, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years.”
All that parcel of land, containing 5 acres, more or less, situate in the Provincial District of Auckland, known as Maropeke, held under certificate of the Native Land Court, dated the 27th day of August, 1883, in favour of Repiu Tokata and others, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable, except with the consent of the Governor, by sale or mortgage, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and three.
