NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Sydenham (hereinafter called “Council”) proposes to take, under the provisions of the said Act and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” for the purpose of altering public streets named respectively Burke Street, Disraeli Street, Hazledean Road, Cadogan Street, Burlington Street, and Longfellow Street, the several parcels of land in the Borough of Sydenham mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
Plans marked “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” and “E” respectively, showing the streets referred to, and the lands required and proposed to be taken, together with the names of the several owners and occupiers of such lands, so far as they can be ascertained, can be seen at the Council’s offices, Bowen Street, Sydenham, at all reasonable hours.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections they may have to the proposed widening, extension, or alteration of the said streets, or either of them, or to the taking of the lands required for the purpose, and all such objections must be delivered at the Council’s offices within forty days from the first publication of this notice, namely, from the 12th day of February, 1903.

NOTICE is hereby given that an Extraordinary General Meeting of the shareholders of the abovenamed company will be held on Monday, the 20th day of April, 1903, at the offices of the Alliance Assurance Company, No. 172, Hereford Street, Christchurch, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of having the Liquidators’ accounts of the

liquidation of the company laid before them, and for the further purpose of passing as an extraordinary resolution a resolution directing in what manner the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidators shall be disposed of.

PUBLIC NOTICE.—GREATER CHRISTCHURCH.
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Acts, 1900 and 1902, and “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” I hereby give public notice that at a poll of the electors for the City of Christchurch taken on the 22nd day of January, 1903, on the proposal “That the City of Christchurch be united with the Boroughs of Sydenham, St. Albans, and Linwood, or such of them (if any) as shall determine in favour of unity with the said city so as to form one united city,” the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,208, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 79.
I therefore declare the said proposal carried.

BOROUGH OF OAMARU.
SPECIAL ORDER.
PUBLIC Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting called for the purpose, and held in the Borough Chambers on Monday, 5th day of January, 1903, the following resolution, by way of special order, was adopted: viz., “That we abolish all wards or subdivisions of borough as from 1st April, 1903, thereby constituting Oamaru an undivided borough under powers conferred by section 182, subsections (3) and (4), of ‘The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.’”
And I further give notice that the above resolution was confirmed at a special meeting of the Council held for the purpose at the Borough Chambers, Thames Street, Oamaru, on Thursday, 5th day of February, 1903.
