Rural Land in Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be open for sale or selection, at this office, in terms of section 136 of “The Land Act, 1892,” either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for lease in perpetuity, on Wednesday, the 10th day of December, 1902.

If more than one application is received for the section on the same day, priority of selection shall be decided by ballot.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned Crown lands will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity, at this office, on Wednesday, the 3rd day of December, 1902, under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and amendments.

If more than one application is received for the same section on the same day, priority of selection will be decided by ballot.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—HUTT COUNTY.—BELMONT SURVEY DISTRICT.—MAUNGARAKI SETTLEMENT.
First-class Land.

Section 35 is situated on the hills to the west of Petone Borough. The access is from Petone, which is about two miles distant by formed dray-road, metalled to within half a mile of the section, which comprises hilly land rising from the road to the back. There are 11 acres in natural bush, the remainder being in English grasses, the cost of which is estimated at £12, and is included in the price of the land. The soil is of fair quality, resting on rotten rock and clay formation. The forest is fairly light, comprising tawa, mahoe, hinau, and rata, with a thick undergrowth of mako-mako, karamu, supplejack, &c. There is no permanent water on the section, but water can probably be obtained by sinking. The elevation ranges from about 450 ft. to about 760 ft. above sea-level.

Section 115, which fronts the Maungaraki Road, is situated one mile and three-quarters from the Petone Railway-station (a mile and a half of which is a formed dray-road), and comprises hilly land rising from the frontage to the back of the section. 1¼ acres is under light native bush and the remainder in English grasses. The soil is of good quality, resting on a rocky formation. There are about 14 chains of old fencing on this section, valued at £1 15s., which is included in the price of the land. There is no permanent water. The elevation ranges from 450 ft. to 550 ft. above sea-level.

Small Grazing-runs, Marlborough Land District, open for Lease on Application.

All broken pastoral country, light soil, fairly well watered; 80 acres native grass, fern, and scrub, balance birch bush. About nineteen miles from Picton by bridle-track, and about twenty-four miles from Blenheim by road and bridle-track.

About 40 acres flat, good soil, balance rough hills, well watered; 15 acres cleared and in English grass, 50 acres native grass, fern, and tauhinu, 40 acres tawa, and balance birch. About twenty-three miles from Blenheim by road and bridle-track.
