Land set apart as a Site for a Native Township in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the third section of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of Native land situated in the Auckland Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby set apart as a site for a Native township, and I do hereby assign the name of “Karewa” to such Native township.
SCHEDULE.
KAREWA TOWNSHIP.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block IX., Kawhia North Survey District, being Kawhia M (Papa-o-Karewa) Nos. 2 to 10 Blocks, and two private roads, and containing by admeasurement 55 acres and 19 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the Kawhia P1, P11, and P5 Blocks, 1051 links, and by the said Kawhia P5 Block, by the crossing of a private road, and again by the said Kawhia P5 Block, 1360 links; towards the south-east by the Kawhia Harbour; towards the south-west by the Maketu Block, 1410 links; towards the north-west and again towards the south-west by the Crown land formerly known as the Kawhia M No. 1 Block, 1036 links and 517 links respectively; and again towards the north-west by the Kawhia M1 Block, 1760 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 49075, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Declaring that certain Fences constructed in connection with the Stratford–Wangamomona Branch of the Foxton–New Plymouth Railway—viz., Toko Section—shall be maintained at the Cost of His Majesty the King.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is enacted by section one hundred and eighty-four of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation publicly gazetted, declare, on behalf of His Majesty, that any fences constructed, or intended to be constructed, by or on behalf of His Majesty, for separating land taken for the use of any railway in such Proclamation mentioned from the adjoining lands not taken, shall, to such extent as is mentioned in such Proclamation, be thereafter maintained, or erected and maintained, as the case may require, at the cost of His Majesty during such time as the railway may continue to be used by or on behalf of the Government of New Zealand: And whereas it is desirable that the fences constructed on behalf of His Majesty along the line of the Toko Section of the Stratford–Wangamomona Branch of the Foxton–New Plymouth Railway (to the extent mentioned in the Schedule below) shall be maintained as hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-four of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby declare that the fencing erected on behalf of His Majesty at both sides of the said railway, throughout the whole extent to which it passes through the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereunder (being lands included in a Proclamation dated the fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 96, of the seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one), shall be hereafter wholly maintained at the cost of His said Majesty during such time as the said railway may continue to be used by the Government of New Zealand.

Altering Boundaries of Ridings, County of Manukau.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of October, 1902.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty-three of “The Counties Act, 1886” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor in Council may, at any time and from time to time, alter the ridings of all counties in the colony where necessary to give effect to the provisions of section twelve of the said Act:
And whereas the Papakura and Mangatawhiri Ridings of the County of Manukau do not, by reason of the alteration of the boundaries of the Papakura, Wairoa, and Hunua Road Districts, made by Order in Council of the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and two, comply with the requirements of section twelve of the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that, from and after the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and two, the existing boundaries of the said Papakura and Mangatawhiri Ridings shall cease to be the boundaries of the said ridings, and that their boundaries shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto respectively.
