Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Stratford-Wangamomona Branch of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway—namely, Oruru Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a branch of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway—namely, from Stratford to a point at or near Wangamomona (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1900”: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same—namely, the Oruru Section:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the eastern boundary of Section No. 36, Block III., Ngaiire Survey District, and distant about 8 chains in a northerly direction from the south-east corner thereof, which point is also the point of termination of the railway as described in a Proclamation dated the 30th day of April, 1901, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 43, of 2nd May, 1901; proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction for a distance of about 5 miles 20 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Sections Nos. 37 and 32, Block III.; Sections Nos. 4, 7, 5, and 6, and Subdivisions of Toko A Block, Nos. 7, 5, 8, 11, 13, and 15, Block IV., all in the Ngaiire Survey District; Subdivision of Toko A Block No. 16, Block XVI., Huiroa Survey District; Subdivisions Nos. 17 and 18 of Toko A Block, Block I., Omona Survey District; Subdivision No. 8 of Huiakama Block, and Sections Nos. 5 and 4, Block XIII., Ngatimaru Survey District—and terminating at a point in said Section No. 4, Ngatimaru Survey District, distant about 20 chains in a northerly direction from the south-eastern corner thereof: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Taranaki: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 19543, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Resuming Land held under Lease for a Site for a Public School.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and twenty-five of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased under Part III. of the said Act which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held on lease in perpetuity from His Majesty the King under Part III. of the said Act, dated the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for the purpose of a public-school site:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities in any wise enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under lease as aforesaid; and do also hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the thirtieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and two.
