In Bankruptcy.—In the District Court, held at Palmerston North.

IN re H. T. BROWN, Mr. Cooper, on behalf of the debtor, applied for a reinstatement of an application for discharge struck out in June, 1901, owing to the non-appearance of debtor’s counsel, due to a misapprehension of the date of adjournment of the application, debtor himself being in South Africa at the time.

The application was refused, but His Honour said that if an affidavit by the creditors in the estate was filed, agreeing to the matter coming before the Court at the present sittings, he would take it.

Orders of release were granted the Deputy Official Assignee in the following cases: W. Dixon, C. J. Wickham, Strong and Lambert, A. H. Macharper, Jas. Pope, Thos. Cootes, E. Gingell, J. Colville, and Harris.

In re E. J. Hoaren, motion for discharge, Mr. Hankins, on behalf of the Deputy Official Assignee, did not oppose, and the application was granted.

In Bankruptcy.—In the Supreme Court, held at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that FRANCIS BERNARD HAUGHEY, of Wellington, Cabinetmaker, was this day adjudged bankrupt; and I hereby summon a meeting of creditors, to be held at my office, on Tuesday, the 23rd day of September, 1902, at 11 o’clock.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an order of the above honourable Court dated Wednesday, the 10th day of September, 1902, I, the undersigned, was appointed to be the Manager and Receiver of the estate of the abovenamed debtor, and was directed to take immediate possession of his property.

MINING NOTICES.

In the matter of the New Electric Extended Gold-dredging Company (Limited).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the abovenamed company, duly convened, and held at Dunedin on Friday, the 12th day of September, 1902, the following special resolutions (which were passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the abovenamed company held on the 22nd day of August, 1902), were confirmed:—

1. That the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and its amendments.

2. That the Directors be appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.
