road thereafter, viz., as from the date of this Proclamation,
shall be borne by the Council of the County of Eketahuna
and the Council of the County of Masterton in the following
proportions—viz., the Council of the County of Eketahuna
shall contribute five-sevenths and the Council of the County
of Masterton two-sevenths of the cost of maintaining such
road as aforesaid; and I do hereby direct that any contribu-
tion hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the County
of Masterton shall be paid from time to time, in the pro-
portion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said
county, within a period of thirty days after demand in
writing made by or on behalf of the Council of the County
of Eketahuna, and all such payments shall be made from
time to time to the Clerk of the Council of the County of
Eketahuna for and on account of such Council.

SCHEDULE.

The road from the railway-line in the Town of Eketahuna
proceeding in a south-easterly direction to the boundary of
the Eketahuna and Masterton Counties, a distance of five
miles or thereabouts, and known as the Eketahuna-Tinui
Road: as the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan marked R. 3216, deposited in the office of the Chief
Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land
District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this sixteenth day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred
and two.

bury Survey District, Waikouaiti County.

A PROCLAMATION.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as
closed the roads in the Hawkesbury Survey District herein-
after described, that is to say,—

District for the Purposes of the Fernhill Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

Whereas it has been found desirable for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Fernhill Rail-
way to take further land in Dunedin and East Taieri Survey
District, in addition to land previously acquired for the
purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections
twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The
Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the
Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above men-
tioned.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve in
the Marlborough Land District.

RANFURLY, Governor.

Whereas by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or
presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other
purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such
reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one
