New Electoral Districts for the North Island.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the North Island Representation Commission, appointed under the provisions of “The Representation Act Amendment Act, 1896,” have made their report to me under their hands and seals, setting forth the names and boundaries of the electoral districts for the North Island, fixed by them in accordance with “The Representation Act, 1887,” and the Acts amending the same:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the fifth section of “The Representation Act, 1887,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the names and boundaries of the electoral districts for the North Island, so fixed by the said Commission, to be those respectively mentioned and set out in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

BAY OF ISLANDS.

This district is bounded towards the north-east generally by the sea from North Cape to the Whananaki Inlet at Sandy Bay: thence towards the south-east generally by the said Whananaki Inlet to Section No. 7, Block V., Opuawhanga Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 7 and Section No. 8 of the said Block V. to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line across the Forest Reserve to the north-western corner of Section No. 22, Block VIII., Opuawhanga Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 22 to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 12 of Block VII., Opuawhanga Survey District; thence by parts of the eastern and southern boundary-lines of the said Section No. 12, by the eastern, southern, and western, and again by the southern, boundary-lines of Section No. 23 of the said Block VII.; thence by lines so as to include Sections Nos. 18, 4, 31, 30, and 10 to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 7 of Block VII. aforesaid; thence by the eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 7 to the north-western corner of Section No. 33 of Block VII. aforesaid; thence by the northern and eastern boundary-lines of the said Section No. 33, by parts of the northern and eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 26 of Block VII. aforesaid, and by the eastern and south-eastern boundary-lines of Section No. 35 of Block VII. aforesaid to Section No. 7, Block XI., Opuawhanga Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 7, and by Sections Nos. 3 and 9 to the road at the northernmost corner of the said Section No. 9; thence by that road and its continuation to Section No. 18; thence by the said Section No. 18, and by the road continuing north-westerly from the last-mentioned section to and along the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 15 and 17 of Block XII., Hukerenui Survey District, to the eastern portion of Section No. 32 of the said Block XII.; thence by the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 17, 16, and 2 of Block XII. aforesaid to the Whakapara River; thence by the right bank of the said Whakapara River to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 12, Block XV., Hukerenui Survey District; thence by the south-western boundary-line of the said Section No. 12 to the road at the north-western boundary of that section; thence by the said road continued westerly to Section No. 20 of Block III., Purua Survey District; thence by the said section No. 25 and by Sections Nos. 9, 23, 15, and 14 of Otakairangi Parish, and by Section No. 1 of Block I., Purua Survey District, to the road which intersects the last-mentioned section; thence by the last-mentioned road and its continuation in a south-westerly direction, passing Sections Nos. 30, 33, 37, 38, 41, 42, 43, and 44, all of the said Block I., to Section No. 25 of Block I. aforesaid; thence by the said Section No. 25 and Section No. 26 of the said Block I., and by Section No. 13 of Block IV., Mangakahia Survey District, to the Moengawahine River; thence by the said Moengawahine River to its confluence with the Hikurangi River; thence by the said Hikurangi River to its confluence with the Mangakahia River; thence by the right bank of the said Mangakahia River to the westernmost corner of Section No. 3, Block X., Mangakahia Survey District; thence by a right line to Trig. Station 18 on Te Tarahi o Rahiri; thence by a right line to Trig. Station 43 (Tutamoe), Tutamoe Survey District: thence towards the south generally by a right line to the north-eastern corner of State forest reserve of 7,750 acres, in Tutamoe Survey District; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block I., Tutamoe Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 1, and by Sections Nos. 6, 8, 9, 10, 19, 20, 21, and 22 of the Marlborough Special Settlement, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of the Waipoua No. 2 Block (N.R.), Waipoua Survey District; thence by the said Waipoua No. 2 Block to the sea-coast at Hahaonui: thence towards the south-west by the sea: and towards the north by the sea: including Moturoa, Cavalli, and all adjacent islands.
