Closing Portion of a Government Road in the Tiriraukawa Survey District, Rangitikei County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section twelve, subsection three, of “The Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1900,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road, or any part thereof: And whereas that portion of the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purposes of a road:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the above in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as closed the road in the Tiriraukawa Survey District hereinafter described.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in Coldstream Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister for Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Coldstream Road District, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation, and to erect and maintain a fence dividing such land from the railway to the satisfaction of the Minister for Railways:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road and fence:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section one hundred and seventy-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Coldstream Road Board, and shall be maintained by the said Road Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Road Board.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, in the Rangitata Survey District, containing 11 acres 1 rood 30 perches, more or less, being a portion 100 links wide of Reserve 2848 in the said survey district. Bounded on the south by the southern boundary of said Reserve 2848 a distance of 11020·9 links; on the south-east by a road a distance of 410 links; on the north, north-east, and south-west by other portions of said Reserve 2848, distances of 11398·2 links, 255·9 links, and 200·6 links respectively; and on the west by the western boundary of the said Reserve 2848 a distance of 125·4 links.
Also, all that area in the Canterbury Land District, in the Rangitata Survey District, containing 1 rood 21 perches, more or less, being a portion 100 links wide of the Railway Reserve in North Rangitata Township, in Reserve 1650 in said survey district. Bounded on the east and south by the eastern and southern boundaries of the said railway reserve, distances of 103·1 links and 255·9 links respectively; and on the south east and north-west by other portions of the said railway reserve, distances of 255·6 links and 511·5 links respectively.
As the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated on the plan marked 10263, deposited in the office of the Minister for Railways, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of July, 1902.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, the purpose of a Native-school site in Block IX., Tatura Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners, and the title thereto is not derived from the Crown: And whereas a map of the said land has been prepared in duplicate, as required by the eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers in any wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the public work hereinafter mentioned; and the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and two.
