Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Additional Land in Kawatiri Survey District taken for the Purposes of the Westport-Ngakawau Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Westport-Ngakawau Railway to take further land in Kawatiri Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Dues and Rates for the Rangiora Timber Company’s Wharf at Hokianga.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of July, 1902.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS it is provided by section three of “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1883,” that the powers conferred by the seventeenth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” may be exercised from time to time:

And whereas by Order in Council dated the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and two, the Rangiora Timber Company (Limited) was authorised to construct a wharf at the Narrows in Hokianga Harbour, as shown on plans marked M.D. 2505:

And whereas it is desirable that dues and rates should be prescribed for the use of the said wharf:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by “The Harbours Act, 1878,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby prescribe that the dues and rates specified in the Schedule hereto shall be charged and taken, on and after the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette, for the use of the said wharf at the Narrows, in Hokianga Harbour, and doth further order that such dues shall be paid to the said Rangiora Timber Company (Limited).

SCHEDULE.

For every vessel lying alongside the wharf,—

(a.) One halfpenny per ton per day, or part of a day, for every ton register up to 100 tons.

(b.) Exceeding 100 tons, ½d. per ton per day, or part of a day, for the first 100 tons, and ¼d. per ton per day, or part of a day, for every ton over 100 tons.
