Notifying Land in the Auckland Land District subject to
“ The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900.”

PURSUANT to the provisions of “ The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Hetana Hamlet, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 451 acres 1 rood 34 perches, more or less, being sections numbered 85, 86, 87, 88, 47, 238a, 239, 240, and 241, of the Parish of Waikomiti. Bounded towards the north-east by allotments numbered respectively 256, 257, and 16, 5260 links; towards the south-east by a road and allotments numbered respectively 271 and 270, 6693 links; towards the west, south, and east by Section 295a, 686 links, 624 links, and 2672 links respectively; and again towards the south and towards the south-west and north-west by roads, 389 links, 679 links, 1261 links, 719 links, 780 links, 280 links, 407 links, 610 links, 458 links, 1847 links, 235 links, 1567 links, 1649 links, 1462 links; again towards the east by a road, 1367 links; towards the north by a road, 100 links; again towards the west by a road, 1396 links; and again towards the north-west by a road, 470 links, 1145 links, and 1804 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less:

As the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19244, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Extending Period within which Commissioners under Sections 6 and 7 of “ The Native Land Claims Adjustment and Laws Amendment Act, 1901,” shall report.

To Hugh Garden Seth-Smith, Esquire, Barrister, and Hone Heke and Alfred Levavasour Durell Fraser, Esquires, Members of the House of Representatives, and to all to whom these presents shall come: Greeting.

WHEREAS by a Commission, bearing date the thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and two, and issued under the provisions of sections six and seven of “ The Native Land Claims Adjustment and Laws Amendment Act, 1901” (hereinafter called “ the said Act”), you, the said

HUGH GARDEN SETH-SMITH,
HONE HEKE, and
ALFRED LEVAVASOUR DURELL FRASER,

were appointed Commissioners to investigate and decide the claims of Wiremu Karaka te Aho and others to a block of land known as Tauranganui or Opuatia No. 11a, 16, and 17, and 18 Blocks, and also to rehear and determine the ownership of the Maungatapu and Te Au o Waikato Blocks, situated in the Piako Survey District:

And whereas by the said Commission you were required to transmit to me, under your hands and seals, your decisions, orders, and opinions resulting from such investigations and inquiries not later than the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and two, or such extended date as may be appointed in that behalf:

And whereas it is expedient that the date on which you are required to transmit to me, under your hands and seals, your decisions, orders, and opinions as aforesaid should be extended as hereinafter provided:

Know ye, therefore, that I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby extend the period within which you shall (using all diligence) transmit to me, as by the said Commission provided, your decisions, orders, and opinions as aforesaid to the thirty-first day of August next. And with the like advice and consent, and in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers and authorities, I do hereby confirm the said Commission except as altered by these presents.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, and caused these presents to be issued under the seal of the said colony, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Witness our Right Trusty and Right Well-beloved Cousin Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Knight Grand Cross of our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over our Colony of New Zealand.
