subsisting between the undersigned, ANDREW GORDON
SMITH and ALEXANDER MCAKILL, carrying on business at
Chatton under the style of “Smith and McAskill,” has
been dissolved by mutual consent as from this day.

All debts due to or owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said ANDREW GORDON SMITH, who
will continue the business under his own name.

NOTICE TO TAKE LAND FOR A BRIDGE.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Council of the Borough of Lower Hutt to take, for
the purpose of a bridge over the Hutt River, all those pieces
or parcels of land situate within the banks of the Hutt
River, and unoccupied, and comprising-(1) all that piece or
parcel of land, covered by water, coloured yellow on plan,
and containing 1 rood 15·4 perches, being part of Section 25,
Block XIV., Belmont Survey District, and situated in Lower
Hutt Borough, commencing at the north-west corner of
Mr. Joumnax's land, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly
direction for 51 links along the east bank of the Hutt River;
thence in a direction bearing 286 degrees 5 minutes, 345 links,
to west bank of Hutt River; thence along bank of river in
a south-westerly direction, 101 links; thence in a direction
bearing 106 degrees 5 minutes, 345 links, to east bank of
Hutt River; thence along bank of river in a north-easterly
direction, 51 links, to starting-point: (2) also all that
piece or parcel of land, coloured blue on plan, and containing
20·8 perches, being part of Section 25, Block XIV., Belmont
Survey District, and situated in Lower Hutt Borough,
commencing at the south-west corner of the piece coloured
yellow on plan, and proceeding in a direction bearing
286 degrees 5 minutes, 125 links; thence in a direction
bearing 20 degrees 32 minutes, 100·9 links, along part of the
eastern boundary of Government land; thence in a direction
bearing 345 degrees 45 minutes, 11 links, along part of the
boundary of Government land; thence in a direction
bearing 106 degrees 5 minutes, 134 links, to bank of Hutt
River; thence in a south-westerly direction along bank of
river, 101 links, to starting-point.

And take further notice that a survey of the aforesaid
piece of land required to be taken has been made and a
plan thereof prepared, a copy of which said plan has been
deposited at the Borough Council Office, Lower Hutt, and
is now open to inspection thereat by all persons at all
reasonable hours.

And take further notice that all persons affected by the
taking of the aforesaid pieces of land are hereby called upon
to set forth in writing any well-grounded objection, and to
send such objection, in writing, within forty days from the
present date hereof (being the first publication of this notice)
to the Lower Hutt Borough Council, at its office at Lower
Hutt.
