Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 38 acres, more or less, being Allotment 79, Parish of Maungakaramea. The registered owner is George Prosser, whose occupation and address are not stated in the title, and remain unknown. The land is in the occupation of Mrs. Elizabeth Boakes, of Mangapai, and adjoins land owned by Mr. E. W. Watson, of Mangapai.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

The grantee is George Popplewell Walker, described as a captain in the 1st Regiment of Waikato Militia, who never uplifted his title, and cannot be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

The grantee is Peter Bendt or Brendt, described as of Hokitika, miner, who never uplifted his title and cannot be traced. The land is in the occupation of Mr. Herman Schultz.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Grazing-lease of 38 Acres of Forest Reserve in Wellington for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 30th April, 1902.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned forest reserve will be submitted to public auction, for lease for grazing purposes, on Wednesday, the 18th day of June, 1902, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, at 11 a.m. If not sold on the 18th day of June, 1902, the lease of this reserve will remain open for application at upset annual rental.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT,—PAHIATUA COUNTY.—MANGAHAO SURVEY DISTRICT.
SECTION 14, Block I.; 38 acres. Upset annual rental, £5. Term, seven years.
This land is situated east of the Hall Settlement, on the Manawatu River, and comprises a natural clearing of flat low-lying land (subject to flood) of good quality and rich alluvial soil.
CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

A deposit of one half-year’s rent and £1 1s. lease fee must be made on the fall of the hammer.

The land comprised in the lease shall remain under “The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885,” subject only to the right of the lessee to use it for grazing purposes.

The lessee shall have no right to fell or remove from the land any live or dead trees or timber, whether standing or lying on the ground.

All persons duly authorised in that behalf shall have free right of ingress, egress, and regress for any of the purposes of the Act last aforesaid, or for felling or removing from the land any trees or timber.

The lessee shall have no claim for compensation for improvements at any time, but at the expiration of his lease may remove all fencing and buildings erected by him on the land.

The lease shall be subject to the conditions that the land comprised in lease shall be fenced, the vegetation shall be conserved as far as possible, and the road through it shall be kept open for traffic, and sheep only shall be allowed to graze upon the land.

IT is hereby notified, in pursuance of section 240 of “The Land Act, 1892,” that the undermentioned Crown lands will be offered to the holder of the adjoining land, under section 114 of the said Act, on or after Friday, the 1st day of August, 1902.

Timber in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IT is hereby notified that the undermentioned kauri and totara timber in Block XI., Kaeo Survey District, Bay of Islands County, will be submitted for sale by public auction at this office on Wednesday, the 14th day of May, 1902, at 11 a.m.
Kaeo Survey District, Block XI., Bay of Islands County: The green and dry kauri and totara timber standing at the head of the Waipapa River, comprising 585 dry kauri-trees, or 1,339,724 sup. ft.; 78 green kauri-trees, or 292,499 sup. ft.; and four totara-trees, or 4,322 sup. ft.: total upset price, £1,061.
Terms of Sale.—One-third cash on fall of the hammer, one-third within six months, and the balance within twelve months from date of sale. Timber to be removed before 1st January, 1905.
The timber is situated at the head of the Waipapa River, about eighteen miles by the river from tidal waters.
