A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section twenty-eight of “The Reserves and other Lands Sale, Disposal, and Enabling and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1901,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the road hereinafter described.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate Area of Road closed. Being Part of Road bounding Section No. Block No. Survey District. Shown on Plan marked Coloured on Plan
A. R. P. 4 0 0 68 V. Weber L. & S.43578 Red.

As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above noted.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Setting apart a Reserve under “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1898.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of February, 1902.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE J. CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1898” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor in Council is authorised under the said Act to set apart any specified area of Crown lands within a kauri-gum district to be a kauri-gum reserve under the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to create and set apart the kauri-gum reserve hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby set apart the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a kauri-gum reserve, with the name set over the description of such reserve in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

WHANGAREI COUNTY.

P’URUA Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2: 484 acres 3 roods 16 perches. For Aponga Settlement.

Purua Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 63 of Block I. and Sections Nos. 7, 8, and 9 of Block II., both of Purua Survey District, containing by admeasurement 484 acres 3 roods 16 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the east by Sections Nos. 61 and 62 of Block I., Purua Survey District; towards the south by Section No. 6 of Block II., Purua Survey District, and by the crossing of a road; towards the north-east by a public road; towards the south generally by Sections Nos. 10, 11, and 12 of Block II. aforesaid; and towards the north-west by a public road to the point of commencement.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 3 of Block III., Kaeo Survey District, containing by admeasurement 245 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north generally by Section No. 1 of Block III., Kaeo Survey District, by Section No. 4 of the Parish of Mahinepua, and by a public road; towards the east by the Touwai Block and by Section No. 3A of Block III., Kaeo Survey District; towards the south-east by Lot 27 of the subdivision of land granted to W. Spickman; and towards the west by Section No. 2 of Block III. aforesaid to the point of commencement.

Validating Election of Chairman of Mokau Harbour Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of February, 1902.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE J. CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by the two-hundred-and-thirty-third section of “The Harbours Act, 1878” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), that in any case in which, by any misadventure or accident, anything is at any time done after the time required by the said Act, or is otherwise irregularly done in matter of form, the Governor may, by Order in Council duly gazetted, from time to time make provision for any such case, or may extend the time within which anything is required to be done, or may validate anything so done after the time required, or so irregularly done in matter of form, so that the true intent and purpose of the said Act may have effect: And whereas, owing to there being no quorum present on the date fixed for the annual meeting of the Mokau Harbour Board for the election of a Chairman, the Board did, at a special meeting held on the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and two, elect Samuel Williard Nicholls to be Chairman of the Board for the ensuing year: And whereas it is expedient to validate the said election:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the power conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby validate the said election, and do declare that Samuel Williard Nicholls, the person elected on the said eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and two, by the Mokau Harbour Board, to be Chairman of the Board, shall continue to hold office as Chairman of the Mokau Harbour Board in the same manner as if the irregularities hereinbefore mentioned in connection with such election had not taken place.
