NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," "The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1897," "The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1899," and "The Public Works Act, 1894."

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work - namely, the widening of streets in the said city; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule here-to are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situate at the corner of Brandon Street and Featherston Street, in the said city, and are open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk, Wellington.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,

WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and its amendments; and in the matter of the Buller United Gold Mining and Dredging Company (No. 1 Ohika-iti Claim), (Limited); and in the matter of a petition filed herein, and dated the 25th day of January, 1902.

BY an order made by His Honour Mr. Justice Edwards, sitting in Court, in the above matters, dated the 21st day of February, 1902, on the petition of Alfred Claude Taylor, a contributory of the abovenamed company, it was ordered that the said company be wound up by this Court under the provisions of the abovementioned Acts; and the Judge did declare that all acts required or authorised by the abovementioned statutes be done by the Official Liquidator without the previous sanction or interference of this Court, save and except the powers to bring or defend legal proceedings, and to do and execute all such other things as may be necessary for winding up the affairs of the said company and distributing its assets, being the powers more particularly set out in the first and last subsections or subparagraphs respectively of section 158 of the Act first above mentioned. And it was also ordered that the costs of the petitioner and of the said company be taxed, and paid out of the assets of the said company.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and of Bradbury and Co. (Limited).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the abovenamed company, duly convened, and held at the office of the company, Lichfield Street, Christchurch, on the 20th day of February, 1902, the following extraordinary resolution was passed: "That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily."

At the same meeting ARTHUR WILLIAM BATELY, of Christ-church, Warehouseman; JOHN MOFFAT, of Ashburton, Hotel-keeper; and RICHARD BELCHER, of Christchurch, Gentleman, were appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such wind-ing-up.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and its amendments; and in the matter of the New Zealand Glass Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the abovenamed company by the Supreme Court was, on the 25th day of February, 1902, presented to Mr. Justice Conolly, a Judge of the Supreme Court, at Auckland, by John Burns, Charles Christie Brown Douglas, and Robert Burns, all of Auckland aforesaid, Hardware Merchants, co-partners, carrying on business at Auckland aforesaid under the name, style, or firm of "John Burns and Co.," a creditor of the said company; and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on Tuesday, the 11th day of March, 1902; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Acts should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose;

and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a duly convened extra-ordinary meeting of the shareholders of the abovenamed company, held in the company's office, at Dunedin, on the 23rd day of January, 1902, the following resolution was carried unanimouslyβ€”viz., "That this company be wound up voluntarily"; and that at a duly convened extra-ordinary meeting of the shareholders of the said company held on the 22nd day of February, 1902, the said resolution was duly confirmed, and Mr. WILLIAM MELVILLE KIRKCALDY was appointed Liquidator of the company.
