Alteration of Boundaries of Borough of Invercargill.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS a petition has been presented to the Governor, under section one hundred and seventy-six of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” praying the Governor to alter the boundaries of the Borough of Invercargill by including therein the area described in the First Schedule hereto, and to include the said area in the North Ward of the said borough: And whereas a notice showing the proposed alteration in boundaries has been gazetted and publicly notified, and no objections in writing to or petitions against such alteration have been lodged:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that from and after the fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and two, the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be included in the Borough of Invercargill, and added to the North Ward of the said borough; and, further, doth hereby declare that from and after the fifteenth day of February the boundaries of the said North Ward shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto, and that the boundaries of the said Borough of Invercargill shall be those described in the Third Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Land District of Southland, being part of original Section No. 27, Block I., Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the north by the Borough of Avenal, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 44, 16th May, 1878, from the Invercargill–Kingston Railway-line Reserve to Kelvin Road; thence towards the east and south by the Borough of Invercargill, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 20, 24th March, 1898, to the Invercargill–Kingston Railway-line Reserve; and thence towards the west by that reserve to the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
NORTH WARD.
ALL that area in the Land District of Southland bounded towards the north by the north side of the road forming the southern boundary of Section No. 27, Block I., Invercargill Hundred, from the Waihopai Estuary to the eastern side of the Invercargill–Kingston Railway-line Reserve; thence towards the west by the said Railway Reserve to the Borough of Avenal; thence again towards the north by the said Borough of Avenal, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 44, 16th May, 1878, to the eastern side of Kelvin Road; thence again towards the west by the said Borough of Avenal and Section No. 29, Block I., Invercargill Hundred; again towards the north by Sections Nos. 24 and 23, Block I. aforesaid; towards the east by the western side of the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 22, Block I. aforesaid, and by the Borough of East Invercargill, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 35, 25th April, 1878, to a point in line with the middle of Spey Street; thence towards the south by a right line to and along the middle of Spey Street and its production to the Waihopai Estuary; and thence towards the west by the Waihopai Estuary to the place of commencement.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF INVERCARGILL.
ALL that area in the Land District of Southland bounded towards the north by the north side of the road forming the southern boundary of Section No. 27, Block I., Invercargill Hundred, from the Waihopai Estuary to the eastern side of the Invercargill–Kingston Railway-line Reserve;
