ninety-nine, certain aboriginal natives, as in the said order
mentioned, were declared to be the owners of the portion of
the Waipapa Block within which the said land is situated:
And whereas, as required by the said Act, a map has
been prepared and signed showing accurately the position
and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto attached,
and the Minister for Public Works has recommended that
this Order in Council should be issued:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order and declare that the land shown upon the said map
and mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for
the purposes of a public school, and is vested in the Educa-
tion Board of the District of Hawke’s Bay: And it is
hereby declared that this Order in Council shall take effect
on the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred
and two.

SCHEDULE.
MOHAKA SCHOOL SITE.
All that piece or parcel of land, situated in Block XIII.,
Waihua Survey District, Wairoa County, Hawke’s Bay Pro-
vincial District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and
2 perches, being part of the Waipapa Block. Bounded on
the north by other part of the Waipapa Block, 421·2 links;
on the east by other part of the Waipapa Block, 485 links;
on the south-east by other part of the Waipapa Block,
146·2 links; on the south by other part of the Waipapa
Block, 554 links; and on the west by a public road,
208·8 links: as the same is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked 1901/2173–243, deposited in the office of
the Minister of Education, at Wellington, in the Provincial
District of Wellington, and thereon outlined in red.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Wellington.

RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was heretofore duly set apart for a reserve for
municipal purposes, being a reserve within Class I. of “The
Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been
vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:
And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be
appropriated for the purposes of a public-school site, being
a reserve in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities vested in me by the second sec-
tion of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,”
do by this notification declare that the said reserve shall,
from and after the sixth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and two, be appropriated for the purposes of a
public-school site under Class III. of “The Public Re-
serves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this noti-
fication shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being
Section No. 83, Block VI., Raetihi Township. Bounded
towards the north by a public road, 100 links wide; towards
the east by Section No. 84 of the said block; towards the
south by Section No. 97 of the said block; and towards the
west by a public road, 150 links wide: as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and two.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.

RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred by sec-
tion thirty-nine of “The Reserves and other Lands
Sale, Disposal, and Enabling and Public Bodies Empower-
ing Act, 1901,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby change
the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto
from a public domain to a reserve for a nightsoil-depot and
gravel-pit.

SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being
Reserve No. 120, situate in the Mandeville District, com-
mencing at a point on the North Road the same being the
south-western corner of Section No. 1259; thence easterly,
following the southern boundary of that section and a line
in continuation thereof, and onwards in the same straight
line along the southern boundary of Section No. 1087, a
distance altogether of 20 chains; thence southerly, at a
right angle, following the western boundary-line of Sec-
tions Nos. 1087 and 1921, a distance of 31 chains 50 links;
thence westerly, at a right angle, to the Native Reserve at
Kaiapoi; thence northerly, following the eastern boundary
of the said reserve to the Old North Road, and from thence
returning along that road to the commencing-point; and
numbered 120 (in red) on the map in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Christchurch: subject nevertheless to the road,
1 chain wide, passing through this reserve from a point on
the northern boundary being 7 chains 30 links from the
north-western corner, and crossing the western boundary at
a point being 14 chains 20 links from the south-western
corner; also to another road, branching from the one last
mentioned at the northern boundary of this reserve, and
crossing the southern boundary at a point being 5 chains
60 links from the south-eastern corner.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eleventh day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and two.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Land District of Wellington.

RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor
may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown
lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands
in the Land District of Wellington enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified
in the second column of the said Schedule, and opposite the descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily
reserved.
