Proclaiming a Road as closed in Block VI., Otahuhu Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by subsection three of section twelve of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed the road in the Otahuhu Survey District hereinafter described.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a borough under the said Act on and from the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Eltham; that the said borough shall be an undivided borough; and that the number of Councillors to be elected thereto shall be nine, exclusive of the Mayor. And I do further proclaim and declare that James William Middleton, of Eltham, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough, and also the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors’ roll for the purposes of the said first election.
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor of the said borough shall be held on Thursday, the thirty-first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one; and the first election of Councillors on Thursday, the thirty-first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one; and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Monday, the fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and one, at eight o’clock in the evening, at the Bank Chambers, Eltham.
SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF ELTHAM.
All that area in the Land District of Taranaki, situated in Block X., Ngaire Survey District, containing 1,590 acres, more or less. Bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Mangawhero Stream with the Waingongoro River, on the left bank of the said Waingongoro River, and proceeding thence northerly along the said left bank of the Waingongoro River to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 11; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section No. 11 to Clifford Road; thence easterly along the southern side of the said Clifford Road to the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 12, thence by a right line across the railway reserve, the south-western corner of Section No. 10; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said Section No. 10 to its northern boundary-line; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that section to its north-east corner at the Mountain Road; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section No. 10 to a point on the Mountain Road in line with the northern boundary-line of Section No. 29; thence easterly along a right line across the Mountain Road to the north-western corner of the said Section No. 29, and thence along the said northern boundary of Section No. 29 aforesaid to the western boundary of Section No. 27; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 27 and 33 to the south-west corner of the said Section No. 33; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Section No. 33 to a point in line with the western boundary-line of Section No. 45; thence southerly across Rawhitiroa Road and along the western boundary of Section No. 45 aforesaid to the Mangawhero Road; thence westerly along the north side of the said road to the east side of the Mountain Road; thence northerly along the eastern side of the Mountain Road to the right bank of the Mangawhero Stream; thence generally westerly along the right bank of the Mangawhero Stream to the starting-point.

RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of “The Timber-floating Act, 1884,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the following river and streams within the colony may be used under license for the purposes of the said Act:—
The Whakatapere River and its branches or tributary streams, all situate in the Whangarei County, Auckland Land District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one-hundred-and-eighty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

HENRY CLARK, and
HUGH HERRIES KIRKPATRICK
Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural lands in the Otago Land District known as Runs Nos. 9, 11, 11 (Wakatipu), 17, 20, 21, 22, 6 of 23, 140B, 224r, 337, 337A, 346A, 419, 492, and Sections Nos. 9 to 12, Block VII., 29, Block VII., and 72, Block IV., Table Hill Survey District; 1A, Block X., Waipori Survey District; 1, Block VII., Budle Survey District; 1, Block X., Dunback Survey District; 25, Block III., and 21, Block VII., Maniototo Survey District; as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892,” aforesaid.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and one.
