fourteen years from the date hereof, unless in the meantime
such rights, powers, and privileges shall be altered, modi-
fied, or revoked by competent authority; and the Council
shall not assign, charge, or part with any such right, power,
or privilege without the previous written consent of the
Minister first obtained.

  1. The said rights, powers, and privileges may be at any
    time resumed by the Governor, without payment of any
    compensation whatever, on giving to the Council six
    calendar months' previous notice in writing. Any such
    notice shall be sufficient if given by the Minister, and
    delivered at or posted to the last known address of the
    Council.

  2. The Council shall appoint all officers necessary for
    the control and management of the wharf and slip.

  3. The Council shall be liable for any injury which the
    said slip may cause any vessel or boat to sustain through
    any default or neglect on its part.

  4. In case the Council shall—
    (1.) Commit or suffer a breach of the conditions herein-
    before set forth, or any of them; or
    (2.) Cease to use or occupy the said wharf or slip for
    a period of thirty days,
    then and in either of the said cases this Order in Council,
    and every right, power, or privilege, may be revoked and
    determined by the Governor in Council without any notice
    to the Council or other proceeding whatsoever; and publi-
    cation in the New Zealand Gazette of an Order in Council
    containing such revocation shall be sufficient notice to
    the Council, and to all persons concerned or interested,
    that this Order in Council, and the license, rights, and
    privileges thereby granted and conferred, have been revoked
    and determined.

Inch-Clutha Land-drainage District, County of Clutha,
constituted.

RANFURLY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of July, 1901.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the
fifth section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” a
majority of the ratepayers in the district described in the
Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Clutha, have
presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, praying that the land comprised in
the said district be constituted a drainage district under the
provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority contained in the fifth section of “The Land
Drainage Act, 1893,” His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
constitute and declare the area described in the said peti-
tion and in the Schedule hereto to be a district for the
purposes of Part I. of the said Act, and to be called by the
name of “The Inch-Clutha Drainage District”; and also, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority con-
tained in the ninth section of the said Act, doth hereby
declare that the Board of Trustees for the said district shall
consist of six members, to be elected under and in accord-
ance with the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

INCH-CLUTHA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

All that area contained within the Inch-Clutha River and
Road District, County of Clutha.

Volunteer Regulations amended.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Defence Act, 1886,” and the
amending Act, 1900, it is among other things
enacted that the Governor may from time to time make,
alter, or revoke regulations respecting the enrolment, pro-
motion, discipline, training, exercise, arms, accoutrements,
clothing, equipment, conveyance, pay, rations, and lodging
of the Forces, or any portion thereof, and respecting the
several other matters in the said Act mentioned: And
whereas on the twenty-third day of November, one thousand
nine hundred, certain regulations were made under the said
Act, which were published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred:

And whereas it is now expedient to cancel the maximum
and minimum “Establishment” laid down in such last-
mentioned regulations for Bearer Volunteer Corps and to
substitute in lieu thereof the “Establishment” laid down
in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby
cancel the “Establishment” for Bearer Volunteer Corps
made on the twenty-third day of November, one thousand
nine hundred, and in lieu thereof do hereby make and pre-
scribe for such corps the “Establishment” set forth in the
Schedule hereto.

And I do further declare that the “Establishment”
hereby made shall come into force on and from the nine-
teenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and one.

amending Act, 1900, it is among other things
enacted that the Governor may from time to time make,
alter, or revoke regulations respecting, inter alia, the enrol-
ment, discipline, arms, accoutrements, and pay of the
Forces, or any portion thereof, and respecting the several
other matters in the said Act relating to Volunteers: And
whereas on the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five, certain regulations were
made under the said Act, which were published in the New
Zealand Gazette of the twenty-eighth day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-five: And whereas it is
expedient now to revoke Regulation Fifty-three of the said
regulations, and in lieu thereof to make the regulation set
forth in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the above-recited power and authority,
and of “The Defence Act Amendment Act, 1900,” do hereby
revoke the said Regulation Fifty-three above specified, and
in lieu thereof, and in addition thereto, do hereby make the
regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto: And I do
further declare that the regulation hereby made shall come
into force on the nineteenth day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and one.
