The Honourable JOHN MCKENZIE,

of Palmerston, Otago, to the Legislative Council of New Zealand, by writ of summons dated 17th May, 1901.

Visit of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York.—Government Offices closed on certain Days.

Wellington, 18th May, 1901.

THE Government offices, with the exception of the post- and telegraph-offices, in the under-mentioned places will be closed on the dates mentioned below, during the visit of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York; and, in respect to the Post and Telegraph Department, leave of absence will be granted to as many officers as possible, consistent with the demands on the department; and those officers who are on duty on the dates mentioned will be allowed leave of absence on days other than those specified, and in lieu thereof :—

Auckland Provincial District.
Tuesday and Wednesday, 11th and 12th June, 1901.

Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson, and Westland Provincial Districts.
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 17th, 18th, and 20th June, 1901.

Canterbury Provincial District.
Friday and Saturday, 21st and 22nd June, 1901.

Otago Provincial District.
Tuesday and Wednesday, 25th and 26th June, 1901.
