Revoking Portion of a Proclamation withdrawing Land from the Haldane Improved-farm Special Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby revoke that part of a Proclamation dated the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 8, dated the thirty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, setting apart land for the Haldane Improved-farm Special Settlement, in so far as it relates to the land set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Land set apart as a Site for a Native Township in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the third section of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of Native land situated in the Wellington Land District, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby set apart as a site for a Native township, and I do hereby assign the name of “Ohotu” to such Native township.

SCHEDULE.
OHOTU TOWNSHIP.

ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 227 acres, more or less, being part of the Ohotu Native Block, Block I., Ngamatea Survey District. Commencing at peg lxiii. on the Parapara–Raetihi Road, and bounded towards the east and south-east generally by lines bearing 127° 15′, 661 links; 217° 15′, 1500 links; 217° 13′, 600 links; 217° 15′, 554 links; 163°, 600 links; 162° 45′, 304 links; 174° 1′, 60 links; 212° 20′, 100 links, to a stream, and by that stream to its confluence with the Mangawhero River, 1760 links; towards the south and south-west generally by the Mangawhero River to a point bearing 265° 50′, 40 links, from peg xxiv. on the Matahiwi Road, 9500 links; and towards the north generally by the Mangawhero River, 12000 links, and by lines bearing 127° 8′, 600 links; 51° 35′, 470 links; 60° 52′, 379 links; 127° 15′, 55 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-said linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan numbered 74, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Prisons Act, 1882,” it is provided that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a prison; and from and after the gazetting of any such Proclamation, or from any time later specified in the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be deemed a prison:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the buildings and huts erected on the Paeroa Survey Block III., between the Waiotapu River and the branch road from Waiotapu to Galatea, and all enclosures used or occupied therewith, shall, from and after the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison, known as the Waiotapu Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of “The Prisons Act, 1882.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads in the Parishes of Pirongia, Karioi, Whangape, Whaingaroa, and Pepepe:

And whereas the Raglan County Council has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by maps, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said roads.
