Notifying Lands in Auckland for Sale by Public Auction.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and one, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the descriptions of such lands respectively.

Notice defining the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Taranaki Land District.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that, if there shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be any doubt or uncertainty as to the purpose for which a reserve was set apart, he may by notice gazetted define such purpose or purposes as to either the whole or any part of such reserve, subject to the action of the General Assembly, as provided in the seventh section of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, define the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the second column of the Schedule hereto from that named in the first column of the said Schedule to that named in the third column of the said Schedule respectively.


SCHEDULE

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Portion which it is intended to define. Intended Purpose.
All that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 101 acres 1 rood 30 perches, being Section No. 45, Ketemarae District, Hawera Survey District. Reserved for General Government purposes by a Warrant of the 3rd August, 1871, and published in Gazette of 19th August, 1871, pages 409, 410. All that parcel of land in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres and 1 perch, more or less, being Allotment No. 11, Waihi Reserve, situated in Block V., Hawera Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road; towards the south-east by Ketemarae Road; towards the south-west by Allotment No. 10; and towards the north-west by Allotment No. 9. Paddock for the use of the Stock Department.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and one.

Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the fifteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and one; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—HOKIANGA COUNTY.

Unsurveyed Second-class Land.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, situate in Block V., Omapere Survey District, containing by admeasurement 25 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the Ngamahanga No. 2 Block; towards the south-east by Section No. 3 of Block V., Omapere Survey District; towards the south generally by unadjudicated Native land; and towards the south-west and north-west by a road, 100 links wide, running along the south-eastern bank of the Waihou River to the point of commencement.

Description of land: Open land, mostly level, of good quality, fronting Waihou River, and intersected by Okaihau-Victoria Valley Main Road, about eight miles from Okaihau.

Cash price, 18s. per acre; occupation with right of purchase, 10·8d. per acre per annum; lease in perpetuity, 8·64d. per acre per annum.
