Extending Time for Preparation of District Electors Roll,
Borough of City of Wellington.
RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this sixth
day of March, 1901.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain
things required to be done by “The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1900,” in connection with the making and
revision of the district electors roll of the Borough of City
of Wellington cannot be done by or within the time required
by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
and authorities vested in him by “The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1900,” and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby extend the times for the doing of the several acts
and things set forth in the Schedule hereto, and required to
be done in connection with the district electors roll of the
said Borough of City of Wellington, and doth hereby
declare that the times for the doing of such several acts and
things shall be those which are specified in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
- District electors list to be made out on or before the
29th March, 1901. - District electors list open for inspection until the 5th
April, 1901. - Delivery of objections to district electors list until the
10th April, 1901. - Inspection of lists of objections to the 14th April, 1901.
- Sitting of Council to determine claims and objections,
17th April, 1901. - District electors roll to come into force on the 18th
April, 1901.

Native Land proposed to be taken for a Road in Te Reu
Reu Native Reserve No. 2, Rangitoto Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of February, 1901.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit,
the construction of a road through part of Te Reu Reu
Native Reserve No. 2, Rangitoto Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the
said land by the Manchester Road Board, as required by the
eighty-eighth section of “The Public Works Act, 1894”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by the eighty-eighth section of the said Act,
and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that
behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the
land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule
hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the
said road, and the said land shall vest in the King, as from
the sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and one.

ticularly delineated on the plan marked as above noted,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District,
and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Notice defining the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in
the Taranaki Land District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the fifth section of “The Public Re-
serves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted
that, if there shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be any
doubt or uncertainty as to the purpose for which a reserve
was set apart, he may by notice gazetted define such purpose
or purposes as to either the whole or any part of such re-
serve, subject to the action of the General Assembly, as
provided in the seventh section of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid,
define the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve
described in the second column of the Schedule hereto
from that named in the first column of the said Schedule
to that named in the third column of the said Schedule
respectively.

nine hundred and one.

Warrant authorising the Minister of Lands to construct a
Traffic-bridge over the Rangitikei River at or near the
Township of Bull’s, and apportioning the Cost of the
Bridge.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of section one hun-
dred and thirteen of “The Public Works Act, 1894”
(hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and “The Public
Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” the Minister of Lands
has made application to the Governor to authorise the con-
struction of the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto
(hereinafter referred to as “the said bridge”), and to appor-
tion the cost of constructing the said bridge between the
Minister on behalf of His Majesty the King, the Rangitikei
County Council, the Manawatu County Council, and the
Bull’s Town Board:
And whereas the Governor is of opinion that the work
should be done:
And whereas by subsection five, (b), of section eleven of
“The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” it is
therein enacted that the provisions of section one hundred
and thirteen of the said Act shall apply to the said bridge,
notwithstanding that a contract may have been already
accepted for it by the Government:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
hereinbefore-mentioned Acts, and of every other power and
authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby authorise
the Minister of Lands to construct the said bridge; and I
do hereby declare that the cost of constructing the said
bridge shall be borne and paid by the said County Councils
and Town Board in the following proportions—namely, the
Rangitikei County Council shall pay to the Minister of
Lands the sum of two thousand nine hundred and eighty-
five pounds five shillings and elevenpence, the Manawatu
