Rural Lands in Southland for Sale or Selection.

District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, 10th January, 1901.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale or selection, in terms of section 136 of “The Land Act, 1892,” either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for lease in perpetuity, at the option of the selector, on Tuesday, the 9th April, 1901.

In the event of more than one application being received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m. If the land be not applied for on the date mentioned, it will remain open for application thereafter at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill.

SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
First-class Land.

Sections consist of level agricultural land, covered with heavy mixed bush. Situated at Lower Waiau Ferry, thirteen miles from Orepuki Railway-station.

Soil heavy, with clay bottom; plenty of timber fit for firewood; height above sea-level, from 20 ft. to 60 ft. Distance from Waimatua Railway-station, one mile.

Abandoned sawmill workings, with a little timber still left suitable for fencing or firewood; soil fair, but inclined to be wet; height above sea-level, from 10 ft. to 70 ft. Distance from Woodend Railway-station, about five miles and a quarter.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned Crown land will be open for sale or selection, in terms of section 136 of “The Land Act, 1892,” either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for lease in perpetuity, at the option of the selector, on Wednesday, the 6th day of March, 1901.

In the event of more than one application being received for the section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m. If the land be not applied for on the date mentioned, it will remain open for application thereafter at the Crown Lands Office, Dunedin.
