WHEREAS on the 26th day of April, 1894, a decision was given by the Court determining the relative shares and interests of the several owners in the above-named land, which said decision was, on the 13th day of June, 1894, appealed from by Tarati Wharekura: And whereas orders in partition were, on the 1st August, 1894, made by the Court, and the shares allotted in accordance with the decision of the 26th day of April, 1894, determining the relative shares and interests:

And whereas by order of the Native Appellate Court dated the 14th day of February, 1895, the said decision of the 26th day of April, 1894, determining the relative shares and interests, was varied, and new orders made:

And whereas no application for a new partition has been made:

Notice is hereby given that at a sitting to be held at Port Awanui on the 18th day of March, 1901, the Court will proceed to make new partition orders, and cancel the partition orders made on the 1st August, 1894.

  1. NOTICE UNDER SECTION 90 OF “THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1894.”—WHANGAOKENO.

WHEREAS under an Order in Council dated the 27th day of December, 1897, Whangaokeno or East Island was, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” taken for the construction of a lighthouse thereon, and other works in connection therewith: And whereas the said island is held or occupied by Native owners: Notice is hereby given that at a sitting to be held at Port Awanui on the 18th day of March, 1901, the Native Land Court will proceed to ascertain what amount of compensation ought to be paid to the owners of or other persons interested in the said Whangaokeno or East Island, and who are the persons entitled to be paid such compensation, and will, after hearing such evidence as may be produced before it or may be thought necessary, make such order or orders as to it shall seem fit.

“THE NATIVE LAND COURT ACT, 1894.” — INQUIRY UNDER SUBSECTION (10) OF SECTION 14 OF “THE NATIVE LAND COURT ACT, 1894.”—HARATAUNGA NO. 2 BLOCK.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the 21st day of December, 1896, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th day of January, 1897, the Native Land Court was, in respect of the land specified in the Schedule hereto, authorised to exercise its jurisdiction under subsection (10) aforesaid — that is to say, to determine whether or not the said land or any part thereof was, on the investigation of title thereto, intended by the Native Land Court, or by the nominal owner or owners of such lands, to be held by such nominal owner or owners in trust for Natives not named in the title, and to determine who are the Natives (if any) entitled beneficially to such land, and to order the inclusion of such Natives in the title, either together with or in lieu of the nominal owners or any of them, and for the purpose aforesaid to order the cancellation or amendment of any existing instrument of title, and the issue of such new Crown grants or other instruments of title as may be necessary, and generally to exercise in respect of the said land all the jurisdiction and powers conferred on the Native Land Court by subsection (10) of section 14 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894”:

It is hereby notified that the Court will proceed to exercise its said jurisdiction and to deal with the matters aforesaid at the sitting of the Court to be held at Port Awanui on Monday, the 18th day of March, 1901. All persons interested are hereby notified to attend.
