EKETAHUNA COUNTY.

THE following is the result of a poll taken at the County Offices, Ekatahuna, on the 26th day of January, 1901, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £400, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of metalling and deviation on part of Central Mangaone Road West (No. 1):

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 10; number of pollable votes, 10: Number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 7; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 2; number of ratepayers who did not exercise their votes, 1.

As the number of ratepayers who voted and the number of votes recorded were in each case a majority (the latter more than three-fifths of the valid votes recorded) in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

PAHIATUA COUNTY.

Proposed Loan No. 58.—Chatham Street, &c.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on 16th January, 1901, on a proposal to borrow £250, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of continuing the borough drain through Lots 178, 181, 182, 184, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 23, parts Section 28, Block VIII., Mangahao; and for the formation and metalling of Chatham Street from the main road to the by-road leading to Mr. O. Cooper’s property (about 27 chains).

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 17, representing 17 votes: Voted in favour, 11; informal, 1; votes not recorded, 5.

There being a majority of voters and votes in favour, I declare the proposal carried.

SOUTH TAIERI SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.—TAIERI COUNTY.

Notice of result of poll of ratepayers on the proposal to raise a loan of £5,777 for works and undertakings within the South Taieri Special Rating District, and for costs of raising the loan and contingencies:

I, James Harrison, Chairman of the Taieri County Council, pursuant to section 39 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” hereby notify that at the poll taken on the 24th January, 1901, in reference to the above-mentioned proposal, —

The number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 82; and the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 43.

And I hereby declare the resolution in favour of the said proposal to be carried.

Dated this 25th day of January, 1901.
