THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Waimate Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.
GLENN ROAD proposed loan of £1,200, for the purpose of forming and metalling the unmetalled portions of the Glenn Road, in the Southern Subdivision, from the southern boundary of Section 5, Block II., Waimate Survey District, to a point 40 chains south of the block-line dividing the Kaupokonui and Waimate Survey Districts:—
Result of poll taken on the 23rd October, 1900:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 8, representing 14 votes: Number of ratepayers voting in favour, 7; number of votes recorded in favour, 13; number of ratepayers voting against, 1; number of votes recorded against, 1.
The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being at least three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I therefore declare the above proposals to be duly carried.

Proposed Loan No. 57.—Lower Scarborough Road Bridge.
THE following is the result of a poll taken on 23rd October, 1900, on a proposal to borrow £300, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, to construct, with a Government subsidy, a traffic bridge over the Mangatainoka River, on the Lower Scarborough Road, at MacFarlane’s Crossing, and make approaches thereto:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 16, representing 24 votes: Voted in favour, 10, representing 17 votes; number of ratepayers who did not vote, 6, representing 7 votes.
There being a majority of votes and voters in favour, I declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Seatoun Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
I HEREBY certify that the following special order was made by the Seatoun Road Board on the 24th day of September, 1900, and confirmed on the 24th day of October, in conformity with section 75 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882”:—
“That this Board, to secure the payment of interest and other charges on a loan of £2,750, to be raised under ‘The Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ and ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ for the purpose of constructing wharves in the Seatoun District, do hereby make and levy a special rate of ¾d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable lands within the boundaries of the Seatoun Road District; such rate to be an annually recurring rate for twenty-six years, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of April in each year at the office of the Board.”

FRANKLEY ROAD BOARD.
In the matter of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899”; and in the matter of the Frankley Road Loan of £1,444 3s. 6d. and the Veale Road Special Rating District Loan of £350.
At a meeting of the Frankley Road Board held on the 28th day of July, 1900, the Board resolved, by way of special order, to readjust the now existing Frankley Road District Loan of £1,444 3s. 6d. and the Veale Road Special Rating District Loan of £350, under the provisions of subsection (1) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” so that interest shall be paid at the reduced yearly rate of 4½ per cent. for the unexpired residue of the original term of twenty-six years, and so that such readjustment shall take effect on the 1st day of Feb-
