UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898,” AND “THE MINING ACT AMENDMENT ACT, 1899.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Invercargill.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” and “The Mining Act Amendment Act, 1899,” the undersigned, Samuel Nicolson, of Gore, Saddler, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right : 15/5/1900 ; No. 7890.
Address for service : At the office of W. F. Inder, Solicitor, Gore.
Dated at Gore, this 25th day of September, 1900.

Locality of the Race, and of its Starting and Terminal Points. Length and Intended Course of Race. Points of Intake. Estimated Time and Cost of Construction. Mean Depth and Breadth. Number of Heads to be diverted. Purpose for which Water is to be used. Proposed Term of License.
On Lot 16, part of Section 44, Waimumu Hundred, starting on the Waimumu at the point where it enters said Lot 16, crossing Kelvin Creek, and terminating at the eastern boundary of Lot 15, the water returning to the Waimumu Creek. One mile; east and west. Two heads from Waimumu Creek at starting-point, and four from Kelvin Creek at a point 300 yards from where it enters Lot 16. Twelve months; £250. Depth, 3ft.; breadth, 2ft. Six heads. To work two dredges on Lots 15 and 16, Waimumu Hundred. Twenty-one years.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” and “The Mining Act Amendment Act, 1899,” the undersigned Elizabeth Doull, wife of Robert Doull, of Mandeville, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for an alteration of a water-race held under License No. 34, dated 19th October, 1899, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right : 2/8/1900 ; 7896.
Address for service : At the office of W. F. Inder, Solicitor, Gore.
Dated at Gore, this 11th day of October, 1900.

To alter the head of water-race held under License No. 34, dated the 19th day of October, 1899, and divert the course thereof as follows : To alter the head of the present race to a point on the Otamita River on Section 247, Hokonui District, and joining the present race 6 chains from its present head. 53 chains 45 links; west and south-west. 5 chains 45 links above the artificial channel constructed by the residents of Mandeville. Eighteen months : £120. 3ft. 6in. by 10ft. Purpose specified in license. Forty-two years from 19th October, 1899.
