RESULT of a poll taken on the 8th day of October, 1900, upon the proposal to borrow £600, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the construction of part of the Mohakau Road:—

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 8; number of votes exercisable, 9: Number of ratepayers voting in favour of the proposal, 5; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 5; number of ratepayers voting against the proposal, 0.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

WAIUKU ROAD DISTRICT.

Result of Poll on Proposed Loan.

RESULT of a poll taken on 6th October, 1900, upon the proposal to borrow £1,800 from the Government under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of metalling portions of the Main Waiuku–Pukekohe Mail-coach Road, Main Waiuku–Drury Road, the Village Cemetery Swamp Road, and Abram’s Gully–Aka Aka Road:—

Number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 80; number of valid votes recorded against the proposal, 37; informal, 4.

As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total valid votes recorded at the poll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Manganui Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special order was made on Monday, 3rd September, 1900, and confirmed on Thursday, 4th October, 1900:—

“That, to secure the repayment of a loan of £850, raised under ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,’ and its amendments—the loan to be for the term and at the rate of interest set out in subsection (1) of section 2 of ‘The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899’—viz., twenty-six years, and 4½ per cent. per annum—for the purpose of forming, grading, and metalling the Monmouth Road from the end of the present metal to its junction with the Pembroke Road; to pay out of such loan the cost of raising it: To strike, as security on this loan, a special annually recurring rate of 1d. in the pound for twenty-six years over the following lands—namely, Sections part 41 (17 acres), 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, Block XIII., Huiroa Survey District; 52, 53, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 73, 75, 77, 79, 80, Block I., Ngaire Survey District. Such rate shall be payable on the 1st January and the 1st July in each year if required.”

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Upper Taueru Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

UPPER TAURU ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.—Readjustment of Loans.

For the purpose of the readjustment of the now-existing loans obtained under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and specified in the Schedule hereto, the Upper Taueru Road Board do hereby order and authorise the said now-existing loans, and the inscribed debt in respect thereof, to be readjusted under the provisions of subsections (1) and (3) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899”—such readjustment to take effect from the 1st day of February next—as follows:—

No. 1 Loan in the said Schedule, known as the Glen-donald–Wairere Loan, to be readjusted, under subsection (1) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” for the unexpired period of twenty-six years, the payments to be made by the Upper Taueru Road Board on such loan and inscribed debt to be at the rate of 4½ per centum per annum, payable half-yearly.

Loans numbered 2, 3, and 4 in the said Schedule, and known as the Mangapurapura, Wilton and Paulsen’s, and Mangorei Loans respectively, to be readjusted, under subsection (3) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” for the unexpired period of forty-one years, the payments to be made by the Upper Taueru Road Board upon such loans and inscribed debt to be at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum, payable half-yearly.
