THE following special order, made by the Weber Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT it be a special order of this Board that this Board do, under subsection (3) of section 2 of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899,” readjust its loan of £6,794 1s. 3d. so that the yearly rate of interest and the term of years during which the interest is payable shall be 3½ per centum per annum for a term of forty-one years; such special order to take effect on the 1st February, 1901.

HALCOMBE TOWN BOARD.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Halcombe Town Board, County of Oroua.

I HEREBY give notice that the poll of the Halcombe Town District, taken on the 5th day of September, 1900, on the proposal to raise a loan of £300, under the provisions of “The Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming, culverting, and metalling the following streets—Knorpp Street, £81; Kimber Street, £22 16s.; Clifford Street, £60 4s.; Cassan Street, £58 10s.; Beetham Street, £60; cost of raising loan, £17 10s.—resulted as follows:—
Number on roll, 141; number of votes exercisable on roll, 143: Number of ratepayers on roll who voted, 16; number of votes recorded, 18; number of votes in favour of the proposal, 18; number of votes against the proposal, nil.
I accordingly declare the above proposal carried.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Drainage Loan.

RESULT of poll of burgesses of the Palmerston North Borough, taken on Wednesday, 19th September, 1900, upon the proposal to raise by way of loan, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” the sum of £10,000, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system within the borough:—
Votes recorded for the proposal, 422; votes recorded against the proposal, 189.
In accordance with clause 2 of “The Local Government Voting Reform Act, 1899,” I have therefore declared the proposal carried.

Form of Declaration.

I, Henry Haydon, of Palmerston North, Mayor, do solemnly and sincerely declare that,—

  1. All proceedings required by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” have been duly taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the burgesses to the proposal to raise by way of loan a sum of £10,000, for the purpose of extending the sewerage system within the Borough of Palmerston North.
  2. The resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried.
    And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

SEATOUN ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll taken this day on the proposal of the Board to borrow the sum of £2,750 for erecting two wharves in the district, the number of votes recorded is as under:—
For the loan, 90; against, 2: majority for, 88.
As a majority of three-fifths of the votes given on the proposal is in favour thereof, I hereby declare that the proposal is carried.

Settlement of Claims for Compensation under “The Mining Act, 1891.”

Mines Department,
Wellington, 5th September, 1900.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the 153rd section of “The Mining Act, 1891,” it is hereby notified that the claims for compensation enumerated in the Schedule hereto, in respect to a Proclamation issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor and the Public Seal of the Colony on the 26th day of July, 1900, declaring that the Waipori River, with its tributaries, in the Land District of Otago, shall be watercourses into which tailings, &c., may be discharged, have been settled by agreement, as provided by the said Act.
