Vesting a Reserve in the Hukerenui Agricultural Association.
RANFURLY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of January, 1900.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto has been permanently set apart for an agricultural and pastoral society’s showground: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Hukerenui Agricultural Association:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Hukerenui Agricultural Association, in trust, for the purpose of a showground.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 100 acres, more or less, being Sections Nos. 33 and 34, Block V., Hukerenui Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Sections Nos. 38 and 35; towards the east by a public road; towards the south by Section No. 32; and towards the west by Sections Nos. 44, 43, and 42.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor by the owner of the land described in the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the Land Transfer certificate bearing date the twenty-seventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine (Volume Fifty-three, folio six), being a certificate in lieu of grant under warrant of His Excellency the Governor, which said land is in the said warrant expressed to have been originally acquired by the owners as from the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, and now contained in partition order of the Native Land Court bearing date the ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that the restrictions be removed, so as to permit the owner to lease the said land:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the fifty-second section of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and in accordance with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order and declare that the restrictions imposed by the said Land Transfer certificate and the said partition order on the alienation of the said land be hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land, containing 25 acres, more or less, situate in the Provincial District of Wellington, being the land known as Section No. 3a, Manaiā 107, or Waingawa Native Reserve, being the land comprised in partition order of the Native Land Court, dated the 9th day of October, 1899, in favour of Arapata te Haruru, and subject to the following restriction: “Inalienable by sale or mortgage, or by lease beyond twenty-one years.”

Notice of Intention to define the Purpose of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the fifth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that, if there shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be any doubt or uncertainty as to the purpose for which a reserve was set apart, he may by notice gazetted define such purpose or purposes as to either the whole or any part of such reserve, subject to the action of the General Assembly, as provided in the seventh section of the said Act:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was reserved by the Superintendent of Canterbury for public purposes:
And whereas it is expedient to define the specific purpose for which such land shall hereafter be set apart:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to define the specific purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto to be a reserve for a sanctuary for native water-fowl.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 31 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 1873. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Rural Section No. 3744; towards the south-east by Reserve No. 898; towards the south-west by a public road; and towards the north-west generally by Rural Sections Nos. 826, 1485, and 3660: excepting from the above-described area Reserve No. 873A.
