A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one-hundred-and-seventy-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and seventy-two to one hundred and eighty-six of Part V. of “The Land Act, 1892,” relating to small grazing-runs.

Proclaiming the Waipori River, in the Land District of Otago, and the Ourawera Stream, in the Land District of Southland, together with their Tributaries, to be Watercourses.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the one-hundred-and-fifty-second section of “The Mining Act, 1891” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, proclaim and declare that any watercourse shall be a watercourse into which tailings, mining débris, and waste water of every kind used in, upon, or discharged from any claim or licensed holding shall be suffered to flow or be discharged:
And whereas not less than ninety days’ notice has been published, in the manner provided by the said section, that application has been made to the Governor to proclaim the watercourses hereinafter mentioned, and their tributaries, to be watercourses for the purposes of the said section mentioned:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor has decided to exercise the powers conferred upon him by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby proclaim and declare that the whole of the watercourses described in the Schedule hereto shall be watercourses into which tailings, mining débris, and waste water of every kind used in, upon, or discharged from any claim or licensed holding adjacent to such watercourses shall be suffered to flow or be discharged; and, with the like advice and consent, His Excellency doth hereby prescribe that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
That river in the Land District of Otago known as the Waipori River, which flows south-easterly from its source in the Lammerlaw Range for a distance of about forty miles to Waihola Lake, together with the tributaries thereof.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
That stream known as the Ourawera Stream, which rises in Block XII., Longwood Survey District, and flows in a general southerly direction into Kawakapatu Bay, at the south boundary of Block VIII., Longwood Survey District; and also the several tributaries thereof.

Delegating Powers under “The Tramways Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of July, 1900.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the eighth section of “The Tramways Act, 1894,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and as and being the Board of Control created by the said Act, doth hereby delegate all the powers vested in the said Board by the said Act to the Electric Telegraph Commissioner.

Excepting Land from Operation of Section 117 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of July, 1900.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council, except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), for a limited period or otherwise, and either generally or for such purposes and subject to such restrictions as shall be in such Order specified, any land, wheresoever situate, which is for the time being subject to the operation of the said section, or any interest therein or right over the same, or may in like manner make such exception in favour exclusively of any lessee or other person who has been bonâ fide in occupation of and has made improvements on such land, or has paid money to Native owners for lease or purchase thereof, prior to the passing of the said Act: Provided that no Order in Council under the provisions of this section shall take effect until after the expiration of two months from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette: Provided also that every alienation under the provisions of this section shall be confirmed by the Court in terms of section fifty-three of the said Act;
